  1. Good article. I agree with you. The judgment of what Keirsey can't do is projection without substantiation. He can place center field. He has played well and has time to see what he can do.
  2. Eeles and McCusker could be two infusions of energy and hot bats. After reading the Lewis article I see players like this that are hungry and still filled with energy as the pep pills the Twins need.
  3. After reading your article I went to the minor league review and it struck me that maybe someone like Carson McCusker who has been hot at every level might be a good addition. Good bat, good attitude. Plug him in at DH and see if he can continue his good season. What's to lose?
  4. There is no ready solution to this. It really is up to the player to work with the team leaders and find the energy and the drive that we saw earlier. It is still there, but he is letting a lot of other issues, injury recovery, long season, change of position, perhaps frustration with the team or management get to him. If he is healthy, he needs some conversations that will shift his attitude.
  5. It is so sad that we are so close and yet so many of us are also discouraged. This should be the time when hope rises and our quest for the full season should be inspiring. But it's not. Your review was too accurate.
  6. Wallner has a great arm for RF, Larnach is fine in left, Keirsey is holding for Buxton or Emma or some other player to take the spot. We will not know if Keirsey can hit in MLB unless we give him enough ABs to show us. I suspect he will.
  7. He has been a decent player but we expected more from him and thus are disappointed. His cost alone means he is gone and with the players coming up through the system it is okay - Emma, Walker, Keirsey along with Wallner and Larnach give us a good crop to fill the positions and maybe Buxton will play a few games too.
  8. This was the perfect set up for a complete game for Ober. He has to be frustrated. At 83 pitches he still had enough to keep rolling, but this team just has to use its RP and RP has not been what was expected at the beginning of the season. Duran is off this year and I will leave it to all of you to figure out why, but he is not the lights out guy we have had in the past. Why did Farmer come in to replace Santana? At the end of the game Santana's glove is too important to remove. I know we love PH, but Julien was finally having his kind of night and we PH Castro who went out (of course). We should have had this game. It is really looking bad. We need to play some more sub 500 teams quickly.
  9. I would say that Wallner has been the spark but the rest are not following him.
  10. I am excited to see Eeles in the majors - I hope things open up for him, but right now I do not see how he will fit with the team we have. Who goes if he stays? Some logjams coming - good ones.
  11. It is about time and I'm tired of hearing that they had to keep them stretched out as a starter. Too many pictures over the years have gone into the pen and back out to start.
  12. Trades need to be made to open up the routes to the Majors. I see Julien moving on. Keirsey is a good trade chip if they let him debut with enough ABs to intrigue buyers. Santana should be gone. Kepler should be gone. Margot and Farmer I hope are gone. So some openings are starting to appear.
  13. McCusker looks like a perfect DH. I think there is a lot of trade potential in this crop. But I hope Paddack is not in the rotation next year. Keep building with the young arms.
  14. It is a question we all have to contemplate and I think we need to be seeing the season ending without Correa/Buxton/Kepler and make the most of it. Lee is SS from now on. Miranda at third and Lewis at 2B looks like our best combination. Julien has really disappointed this season, Castro has to stay utility, Farmer has to stay on the bench and Helman should replace him. In CF I want to see Keirsey get extended play.
  15. Why the limit for Morris? Is he going to take Zebby or Varland's slot? Winning in the minors is affected so much by the promotions and changes in the lineups and rotations. But I am pleased with what we are developing. Think of the Saints if there lineup was not playing in Minneapolis - Zebby, Varland, Festa, SWR, Morris - Henrique, Blewett - Lee, Lewis, Miranda, Larnach, Wallner, Julien, Helman, Keirsey and Martin. I think we will start calling the MLB team the Minneapolis Saints.
  16. No let him get his bat under him in AAA. I think our current lineup is sufficient.
  17. I am delighted. I hope he is fantastic - I know we could have used his defense over the last month.
  18. Nice list. Varland has to watch his back his position on the Twins is being threatened from below.
  19. I am not sure I would have Walker that high for the month. I might have slotted Beltre in at five, but the nice thing is that we have so many that are worthy of top five status.
  20. I agree with Wallner but would switch Larnach and Jeffers and drop Vasquez to five.
  21. One more question - why don't we IL Kepler and call up an OF?
