  1. What was Kepler's bad news? I assumed that coming back from his suspension and getting signed again would be a good thing for him.
  2. The Minnesota Twins signed free agent RHP Failin Placencio to a minor league contract Hmm ... an unfortunate first name, but maybe the Twins organization can get him succeedin very soon.
  3. Ha! That was my first thought too ... and I also don't think it would be a totally crazy idea.
  4. If they are seriously planning on turning Lewis into a first baseman, then he definitely needs more time in AAA to work on fielding that position.
  5. Another pitcher I've never heard of, but I checked his career stats and they aren't horrific. Maybe he turns into a useful piece during this strange season. Gotta keep fishing and hope we catch a few.
  6. It was Like Tug-of-War Between Two Pigs in the Mud Best headline for an article so far this season!
  7. At $23 million, Jeffers would be the highest-paid catcher in the world, by a wide margin. I'm a bit naive about the economics of baseball these days, but that strikes me as an insane salary for a player like Jeffers.
  8. Even though it was a short and rocky outing, very nice to see Charlee Soto pitching again. Fingers crossed that he stays healthy for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, how about Hendry Mendez?! Man, the guy is on fire. Hope to see him called up before too much longer.
  9. I agree, Taj seemed to be having more control issues in this game. I hope he gets back on track with his next start. We need him to pitch like he did earlier in the season. Our starting rotation needs some stability.
  10. Man, I loved Deduno. But yeah, control was an issue with him too.
  11. I have to admit that I knew next to nothing about Paredes. In fact, when I saw his name I had to do some research just to find out which Paredes it was that we were using! But it DOES seem like he has earned the promotion, albeit much quicker than expected. Your comments make me feel more confident in his ability to succeed.
  12. At this point we should consider bringing Big Sexy back out of retirement and using him to fortify the rotation.
  13. What's the status of the Woods-Richardson DFA? When is the deadline where they have to trade him or release him?
  14. Hey, beggars can't be choosers, Welcome to the Twins, Justin. Let's hope for good results.
  15. Yes, I think the Twins need to make a decision very soon about where Diaw keeps playing. Positional diversity can be a good thing, sometimes, but in Diaw's case I think they need to decide one way or another. Not sure if his injury history will factor into that decision or not.
  16. Yeah, as shocking as this move was, I would still put some trust in the front office and the manager and coaches, who are better equipped to make these decisions. I also thought he would be given a chance in the bullpen for a while, All in all, a very puzzling move, but as you noted, another player, such as Klein, will have the chance to show he belongs. Keep bringing up more prospects.
  17. We now have minor leaguers born in 2009, the Joe Mauer MVP year. And so, the passage of time trudges on. Yeah, the passage of time takes no prisoners, but thanks for reminding me that I'm no young prospect these days either.
