  1. Yes, that would be a good duo. There is almost no way we see Jeffers in a Twins uniform next season, and I would be quite content to have Jackson back again. Plenty of young catching prospects in our minors, but none are ready for MLB yet.
  2. Gotta add my voice to the choir: great article, Parker! These types of articles that look into the reasons and mechanics of pitching changes really helps an old guy like me understand the current game much better. Very informative and helpful!
  3. Yeah, we had more hits than they did and the Twins still managed to leave 11 LOB. Should have been a much closer game in any case.
  4. I like versatile players, Willy Castro being one such good example. But sometimes I think this concept of switching players around from position to position, platooning, or whatever, certainly CAN hurt their development or play with their heads. Where I am playing this week? Players like Royce Lewis, Keaschall, Martin, and even Brooks Lee and Clemons seem adrift in the grand scheme of things. I really don't know the answer, but it seems like most players would like to know which position they are going to play for the next couple of years and stick with it, rather than trying to take on a new role.
  5. I agree. He's still young and seems to have the physical tools to play on the field, but where does he end up playing? Granted, it's still very early days to judge him as an outfielder, but then again I thought he would stick at second base.
  6. Whatever happened to Joey Gallo's plan to become a pitcher?
  7. I would assume that some team will claim him. He played well, albeit in limited innings this season.
  8. I think 2029 might be a more likely "due date" for a World Series appearance for this young bunch, but I applaud your optimism!
  9. I was puzzled to see that Gabriel Gonzalez had officially "cracked" the majors. Huh? I must have missed that one, so I checked and saw that he did in fact play in one game so far. That said, will we see him called up again this season or not? Seems like we still have too many bodies in the outfield and not enough room or games left in the season to play everyone.
  10. The only enjoyable aspect of that game was the pre-game cornfield rollout of all the Hall of Fame players. Fun stuff.
  11. Another terrific roundup of the minor league action. Keep it coming, Seth! I agree about the Twins signing Marquez to a minor league deal. Definitely worth a roll of the dice. As you noted he was already on the Twins' radar a year or two back, so hopefully there is something there the team can use. Zebby and Ober haven't exactly been lights out recently, and even Bradley's game yesterday was cause for concern, so even a so-called innings eater might not be a bad thing to have the final month.
  12. We obviously want Ryan back in action ASAP, but take your time, do it right.
  13. Not so sure about that. Once Abel is healthy and pitching again I think the Twins are going to be happy they have him on the team.
  14. Well, it's possible. I think Rojas has a lot of potential. once the Twins decide if he is a starter or a relief pitcher. But losing Varland still hurts. I think he will be pitching well for many seasons.
  15. I was surprised to see Encarnacion-Strand was back in the majors again, this time with the Orioles, and annoyed that he homered against us. Just one of those losses. Hopefully our bats wake up in the next game.
  16. I am still puzzled by the way the Twins are handling Rojas. Up and down from the majors to AAA and back again. and back and forth again. Is he a starter or will they end up putting him in the bullpen? I think it would help his development if there was a consistent plan for him.
  17. I agree, None of us common folk have any true insight as what is going to happen. But at this point I am very pessimistic there will be a complete season, or even a partial on
  18. I think the Twins need to keep Jackson, not only because his production has been good this season, but also because we are one injury away from another catching crisis. I think he's a valuable backup, and one that COULD be a starter if needed.
