  1. Inexcusable decisions in the tenth, no doubt (and pre-game, starting Vasquez). I absolutely couldn't believe letting Vasquez bat in that situation- what?? I'm ready to cut him and bring up Camargo, but of course it's not my money. However, there was some bad luck as well as bad fielding. The first run scored on a ridiculous missed catch at home; the next two scored on bad throws but both were on what were effectively well-placed swinging bunts. That "game-winning hit" in the tenth was a joke, but it was a joke in the right spot. Meanwhile, the Twins hit at least four scorching line drives that infielders caught, largely out of self-defense. Oh well, let's get 'em today.
  2. Sano and Polanco are off the injured lists and playing again. Sano is 1-9 (a HR) with 5 Ks. Polanco is 1-8 with 4 Ks. Hopefully Polanco gets hot again...after this weekend is over.
  3. Yes, if only we had Polanco back, with his OPS of .595. That would be so much better than Julien's current .693. I was surprised the Twins got as much as we did for him, and now it turns out they didn't get as much as we thought. Did they turn down better offers? I don't remember ever hearing of any.
  4. Especially against the Guardians and Royals.
  5. Great win! I have a much better attitude than I did two weeks ago. AND MARGOT GOT A KEY HIT! Who had that in Twingo? Nobody.
  6. I really like this version of Woods-Richardson.
  7. Really hoping for a good series this weekend. That new batting coach we just got…Johns Hopkins? Something like that. He’s been doing the job.
  8. Curmudgeon! Ok, it does get a little old (like the sausage does) but at least we don’t have a stupid rally monkey. This will have to do until a squirrel runs on the field again
  9. Agreed, I enjoy hearing about former Twins, or at least I'm interested. There are guys I still cheer for when they play the other teams (Arraez, Garver, Rooker, lots of others), guys I feel sorry for and would like to see succeed (Nick Burdi, a horde of relievers trying to stick somewhere), and occasionally guys whose poor outcomes I celebrate (no need to name any names here, it would only Lance a wound).
  10. Agree with many of the comments. The game threads seemed to have a lot more posts when the team was losing, which says something about the mindsets of the posters. Mods are doing a great job keeping every topic from turning into the same litany of complaints. Minor league coverage is great, I can quit a set of comments whenever I want, i get a lot of value here, thanks everyone.
  11. I part-grill the brats, then simmer them in beer and onions. Great, moist flavor, and the onions are fantastic.
  12. I apologize for saying I thought the Twins needed to replace Santana. Unless he reads TD and wanted to prove me wrong. In which case, Carlos you are still a washed-up bum. You have to hit 3 more HRs this week to convince me.
  13. I got it! I'll be Haydn. Wait, no- I'll be Strauss. That's not it...I'll be Rachmaninoff. Hmmm...
  14. Well, it makes you smarter than me, that's for sure. Or at least more on Chief's wavelength.
  15. Put it on the Booooaaarddddd YES!
  16. The Museum Campus is pretty darn spectacular, too. Agreed on the sports team angle, though. Fun that Reinsdorf wants a new stadium now, given that his team could seat all the fans in a couple of El trains these days. "The sweetest words that ever have been: White Sox lose! Twins win!" big dog, Lake County, IL
  17. Is it just me, or are there posters who wish we had lost these games to fit their personal narrative? Naw, that can't be true.
  18. "The Expected Batting Average on the Miranda homer was just .220 despite being a home run in 23 out of 30 ballparks. It was a little different than Santana’s which would have been a homer in all 30 MLB ballparks (yet somehow only had an expected batting average of .880). " I don't know how much faith I had in EBA, but I have a lot less now.
  19. His OPS+ with the Twins was 79. That might have been been a little light.
  20. I would compare him to Tony Bautista (2006), except Tony was a lot better than what we've seen from Carlos so far. Tony lasted 50 games.
  21. I'd be happy to replace him but I'm pretty worried about what we'd get instead. I guess when Correa comes back it would let us keep either Larnach or Miranda. I'm in favor, once it's time to make a roster move.
  22. I'm ready to replace Carlos Santana with a different guitar player.
