  1. Fans and the Front Office are running out of excuses for Kepler. His bat as been awful for a while and this year he's the exact opposite of clutch. Late & Close, his splits are .083/.120/.208. When the Twins are trailing, his splits are .136/.156/.318. Are we trying to win a division or are we trying to wait for him to come around? This team should have an 8 game or more lead in the division but they consistently play guys that aren't the best at their position.
  2. Lolz why are people in this thread throwing Polanco under the bus? He's been hurt and is hurt again. His surface level split line produces the 5th best OPS so why throw shade at him? Correa is the one who deserves all the finger pointing as he flat out sucks. Same goes for Christian Vazquez, Miranda, Gordon, and Kepler. It's a shame that folks employed by the team still think Kepler has something.
  3. This is where I'm at too. Something with Miranda definitely needed to happen, but what's the plan for the other guys? Of the 18 guys ESPN lists, 14 are batting under .234. 12 of them have an OBP under .309. I really question the group of coaches
  4. With how bad the pitching has been since Wes Johnson left, it wouldn't surprise me if the Twins finished 3rd in the Division. I'm almost to the point where I dont want to trade prospects for pitching right now because there are so many holes in the bullpen and the starting rotation. I trust 2 starters and 3 relievers...that's it. Unless they score 10 runs a game when Joe Ryan or Sonny Gray aren't starting, it could be an ugly second half.
  5. Ok, then what do you think the issue is? Since he left here are some SP stats: 26th in fWAR, 27th in ERA, 27th in FIP, 30th in xFIP, 25th in K/9, and 26th in H/9. Pitching coaches are also important for game day preparation. I think Wes was a guy who really understood how starting pitchers needed to approach their opponent that day. Again, since he left, the starters have been god awful
  6. Trading Correa not only wont work out the way we hope for return of players, but it sets an ugly precedence on FA moving forward. He was a huge get and trading him after not even playing a full season is an ugly look. Plenty of other guys we can trade that would still generate a strong return
  7. Go after anyone and everyone worth a damn. My worry is that we need multiple pitching pieces to win the division and win anything in the playoffs. Pitching has been a complete dumpster fire since Wes Johnson left and a lot of teams will realize this when negotiating with the Twins, so the price might be too much for us. On the other hand, we have roughly 100 infielders in our farm system so moving some youth shouldn't be a problem.
