  1. This should solve all our injury problems and we'll never need to use the IL again. 162 games by Buxton? Done, Kirilloff wrist issues? Gone. Pitchers going under the knife for TJ? Never. Baldelli with a hangnail? Perish the thought. Ocean front property in Arizona? You betcha!
  2. Sure...someday. It's certainly unlikely, but anything is possible. This just in...it won't be Jeffers.
  3. This has the makings of a smoke-screen move by Boras. It's probably nothing. I don't think I'd put a whole lot of stock in it for now...it's way too early for that. If I was LA, I'd much rather find a way to keep Turner, than sign CC. Don't get me wrong...I do think that CC is a goner, but not to LA.
  4. They hired Nick Paparesta away from the A's to lead the new training staff. He'd been there for 12 years as head athletic trainer. Hope it's a good hire.
  5. There is a less than zero chance that DeGrom comes here. Ain't...gonna...happen. Try to get Rodon, or Bassitt...and even those two guys would be highly unlikely. I'm sure there are other pitchers out there that would be a pretty good fit here. Please, just make sure to get rid of Archer and Bundy!!!
  6. I like Polanco, but I agree he's a pretty good trade chip. Just my opinion...I think I'd explore moving him for pitching, and put Arraez at 2nd, Miranda at 1st, and keep Urshela to play at 3rd.
  7. I know what you're saying, and there's no doubt the game has changed. You can argue that it's changed for the better...or not. LaRussa had been out of the game for 10 years. Bochy only 3. He can't be THAT out of touch in only 3 years. In any event, it's only my opinion. You have yours. Everyone is entitled to theirs.
  8. 25 years experience as a big league manager with 2003 wins, 12th most in MLB history, and with 38 mores wins, he moves into the top 10. He has 44 post season wins, which is 6th in MLB history. Six division titles, four World Series appearances and three World Series titles. Probably a HOF manager. All of that is better than the best manager in Twins history...TK. Maybe it's just me, but I'd take him over Baldelli in a heartbeat.
  9. ...just got hired by the Rangers. Bruce Bochy.
  10. In my opinion...and that's all this is, there's a huge philosophical difference between what the Twins are trying to do, and what a lot of other teams are trying to do. The Twins aren't necessarily trying to win a World Series. They're only interested in their profit margin. That's their singular goal. They don't want to do anything to jeopardize that. If they should happen to somehow get to the playoffs, go deep in the playoffs, or win a WS, they'll claim that this was their plan all along and their method(s) worked. Unfortunately, I don't think any of us will see another Twins WS title in our lifetime...I know I won't. No doubt that's depressing, but it won't stop me from being a fan and watching/listening to every game.
  11. I don't particularly want either of those three guys. I'd love for CC to stay, as unlikely as that is. Let's wait and see how things play out a bit. There's a long winter in front of us.
  12. Stashak...no. Let him go. Enlow...maybe. At least give him a look. If you gave Sands innings, you can give Enlow a look.
  13. Are you 100% certain that it was a pitcher?
  14. I'd really love to keep him, but I'd bet the ranch that he's gone. No way that Rob, Chip, and Ernie pony up the dough to keep him. Some other team will back the Brinks truck up to his house. CC can say that he loves it here, loves the culture, loves Baldelli, and all that other jazz, but we all know money talks.
  15. As Jean-Luc Picard would say..."Make it so!" Bartender...make mine a double!
  16. Kind of surprised no one took Smeltzer. I don't necessarily want him back, but out of all of them, he's the one guy I figured would get claimed. Cave helped us out a lot this season. Good back up guy. 100% pure hustle. I wish him the best. The other guys? No loss there...see ya.
  17. Scapegoat move, even though they need better results in this area. WAY bigger problems with this organization than the trainer.
  18. Just about anything would be an upgrade over Garlick.
  19. Decent stuff, decent velo...zero command. Barely serviceable in a mop up role. Anything else is a disaster. Much better options will be available. Find another sucker and ship him over to them.
  20. https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/twins/brian-murphy-twins-choke-job-deserves-a-reckoning?src=rss
  21. If I remember right, I thought they would get to around 85 wins, so they were worse than I expected. It was a very disappointing, frustrating, season. I hope things get better next year, but I think a lot has to happen for them to improve. With the FO returning along with Baldelli, I wouldn't make any bets on it. This will be an interesting off season. If things remain pretty much as they are, I think a house cleaning is in order.
  22. Gio is money at 3rd. He was a nice addition this season.
  23. Ok...who are these guys, and what did you do with the real Twins team?
