  1. Very true - but we will not keep both him and Castro as we won't have both in 2025 and Martin may have more value as teams may view his upside as higher
  2. Plus - not sure about his locker room presence? Sounds like a Donaldson too me
  3. I am hoping Martin is here to improve his trade market and we include him with an OF in a deal for a RH middle of the order hitter
  4. That is a so very true, just thinking the asking price would most likely be him and not Varland.
  5. Or...............could they be looking at him to give a strong start and deal the more impressive SWR for Luzardo? I am hoping not, but Luzardo is an upgrade over either of them. Castillo going down was tough as he has been pretty good in the pen, so thinking Varland reverts to the BP after this spot start or goes down in 10 days for Castillo or another arm for the pen
  6. I hate to say this, but it might be time for Wallner to take Kiriloff's place on the roster. If one were RH it would make things much easier.
  7. or Buxton, or Jeffers. I understand Vasquez hit a bomb and Jeffers needs days off, so that I can live with. But Buxton and Lewis off on the same day has me questioning Rocco more and more. I get keeping them healthy, and if you are thinking we can't beat the Yankees anyway, then ok. But they have off days, and you can rest one before the off day and one after and better manage your lineup. Plus stop it with all of the early pinch hitting!!
  8. I do hope they collapse, but I do not believe the Tigers and Royals are better then them. They have had a weaker schedule (Twins are included in that), but have also navigated some injuries. I think the Twins will make a run at them but they are clearly the top two in the division. The others have closed the gap, but have not passed.
  9. I hope you are right and I am wrong, but I don't see Lee as "that guy" I would much prefer he be packaged along with Wallner and Varland for Luzardo
  10. I think it will be Miranda at 1B, and either Julian/Lee will be part of a trade if not this year in the offseason
  11. If Julien is going down, who will be the every day 2b? Farmer? I agree with this being the choice for a demotion, but wonder on lineup construction?
  12. I would like to see Margot get DFA'd as Kiriloff can play the OF. However, I could see a trade of Larnach/Kiriloff/Wallner happening as well.
  13. I agree with this a majority of the time and feel it is a huge reason Sonny didn't resign along with the $$$. I am ok with yesterday as an off day allowed full use of the BP and a win was needed. Had he left him in and Abrams unloads - would the questions be "why was SWR left in" I think so.
  14. We don't need to see Lee in 2024. I don't know enough on Kiersey to provide input. Miranda/Martin/Wallner need to part of a package to spring life to the team. Just now sure what we would get. And you can add Kepler to that list to upgrade our return. I mean if Rocco is using his only against RH pitchers, he is a waste of an asset
  15. this is where Analytical driven thinking is ruining the game. Start your 9, use bench to rest players. Margot as your 3 hitter - WTF
  16. I would agree that arbitration numbers will inflate the cost, but won't get that value as a free agent. This might not be the last time he is traded.
