  1. Rodgers had 30+ saves in the national league. Did we have 30 saves for us in the whole season.? The reason people thought he did poorly was because of an injury. That being healed allowed him to grip the ball better and effectively use his pitches better.
  2. We should not have traded him. But can the front office suck it up and bring him back
  3. Your plan is good if we can resign correa. However they list rondon at a higher pay. And he is the true ace available. He should be bid on by a few teams. The only problem I can see is kirloff may have issues with his wrist. They are not sure how effective he will be. Also we know Buxton will need some games at d.h. So arraez will be back at first sometimes. Also I would like to see the twins get a guy like Joe mantiply from Arizona. They need a third baseman badly. Maybe we could make a deal. If correa falls thru. We need a stop gap till Royce is back.then we could spend bigger money and make a bold move like getting the cubs catcher. It's just an idea.
  4. At last count we had at least 13 pitchers who started and a couple more who were out for the season. And that's not counting Bundy and Archer. I'm hoping we don't see them this year. That means a ton of injuries.
  5. The problem you have with any player is what is there value right at this moment. Take Sano as an example. If he had played 125 games this year and hit 35+ homers and batted .250, would we want to get rid of him? It would never happen. But with the season he had he has no value. With martin teams will be trading for future potential. Do what some of the people on this site said. Hold him , and see what the stats are by mid season.
  6. There is one more route. Find a catcher who is either a trade or free agent who would be a better backup than Leon or Hamilton. And get someone then for 3 to 5 million. That would save more money for a more bold move. However I'm in favor of getting Wilson and making jeffers a backup for the time being. Besides catchers have quite a few injuries.
  7. We can probably get Rodan for 27 million a year. If we are losing our shortstop , that leaves us an extra 8 million. Plus we have other money freed up to get other needed players .
  8. Yes they give older veterans a second chance. They try to get by cheaper hoping one guy will have a break thru year. I can see what they are doing but if they took the money they spent on three pitchers they could go after an ace. If they make the right moves they could get Rondon or syndagard this off season.
  9. You don't always make a move to get a player. Sometimes it's ok to bid and raise the price of a player even if you don't win a bid. With Judge they would have a superstar. I would offer 42 million a year. If the Yankees match that they have less money to spend on an ace the twins will have 87 million paid if they lose the players they should. Still keeping Kepler. Add the 42 for Judge we would have 129 million spent. We were 157 before the trade deadline and 144 after. Leaving plenty for an ace. I may be the only one to think this way. But if we don't get Judge we get help everywhere else . The same people in this article who think this is a joke. We're people who didn't think we would ever sign correa. Also we can not afford to have correa judge and rondon.

  11. We forgot to add who had the best fastball as a twin. Any ideas?
  12. What do we do with Ober and Winder? I believe both will be back soon.
  13. He won't hit worse than Beckham or cave. Neither hits well and don't steal bases. He is a good center fielder. He could be at late inning replacement in the field and a pinch runner.
  14. Yeah, and I heard a NASA scientist is tracking a astroid . He thinks it will hit Buxton.
  15. Give him 15 days off. Check him out, if he can play ok. If not shut him down completely. Others will have to pick up the slack.
  16. This is not completely accurate. In the case of Archer and Bundy the coachs put limits on there pitch counts. This was done early in the season because they were trying to keep them healthy. Archer could have won 3 more games if he could have pitched at least one more inning . He was doing well and his pitch count was in the 60''s. Bundy's game yesterday was almost lost by pulling him at 71 pitches. He had walked one runner and they pulled him with a one hit shut out. The next pitcher gave up a run. Grey was yanked against his wishes after pitching a gem into the 7th when he walked two hitters. His pitch count was good. Sands was not that great the first go around this year. Besides we have Winder, Ober, Maeda all coming back in September.
  17. Just a quick note. It's not the pitchers fault for Bundy or archer. Archer pitched 5 games of 4 plus innings. Only winning the 5 innings game. That was because he had a 60 pitch limit. He went 80 plus pitches in the win they did same thing with Bundy for a few games. But early in the season we had a 6 man rotation. Now we can't find 6 healthy starters. We have at least 3 pitchers coming back in September. That doesn't help us now at all.
  18. He's a number one now but likely a two or three. Hopefully we use the money we have to get a number one. The only way he is our best pitcher is if he does improve all his pitches.
  19. The one people are forgetting about is Maeda. They think he will be back in September. He is a veteran at this pointt. And did a great job out of the bullpen for the dodgers.
  20. After seeing how Mahle can pitch I think with what we have we will win the division. After that we will get a home game probably against either toronto or Tampa. I think Seattle with there new pitcher will finish ahead of all of us record wise. That means we play Houston most likely. That is where our season ends unless the hitters all break out of there slumps at the same time.
  21. I think they are doing the best they can. Looking back at games he didn't play in most games he probably would not made a difference. Unless he would have went nuts and hit like a crazy man. The problem with hitting on the twins is most of the time we have only 3 or 4 people hitting. The rest can't t get on base..Also Buxton will get more money based on the number of games played. So he can't sit for long periods of time. So the twins dh him one game play him in field one game, then a day off and so forth. We really need him if we make the playoffs.
  22. No the twins by all accounts needs at least 6 or 7 in the majors and triple A. But I agree we need at least one or two more guys that can go 6 plus innings. I'm hoping the injured pitchers get better soon.
  23. I think he stays. He gave the team advice at the deadline telling the team not to loose Miranda. That coupled with a less than allstar year should make him wait one more year. As for us using his money for a better pitching staff. We should have plenty of money. Bundy, archer , Duffy, pagan, dobnak , sano and others will free up enough for one great pitcher. I like our starters, Ryan gray, Mahle , maeda gives us a great start for next year. Add a true ace and we are ready.
  24. Would have been nice to get another good hitter. But we can only give up so much of prospects.
  25. The problem is I like the other guys we have. Thor is a middle of the rotation guy. Besides come the last month of the season and playoffs we will likely have madea and acala back. So I dont see a bullpen opportunity for him. Also we pay 10 million bucks that takes away money used for relief help. How much will the twins spend before the deadline? But it maybe a fallback position.
