  1. Completely agree. Martin of the last two months deserves to play and be given the chance to show that’s who he is going forward. And no “gimmes”; let the best player play regardless of who it is.
  2. Sadly I think some version of this is likely true.
  3. Yep. I think people are getting a little over their skis on Martin. He played well for the last two months in left. It’s really the only position where he has proven to be an effective fielder. If he can produce what he did the last two months I would be over the moon excited. There is zero evidence he is a Castro level utility man nor should the Twins try to make him one.
  4. And to add on, trading Ryan et al is a way to add top end prospects to the farm. The Twins have a few prospects that offer MLB upside but not many. Having to have all those guys hit is not a likely proposition. Let’s widen and deepen the prospect pool and have a good window of real success.
  5. This is exactly how I feel. Trying to win a few more games in 2026 is a fools errand. Pick a path and do something that might lead to success. I almost feel like the orgs new philosophy is to make a profit and not completely suck but never really doing anything to compete.
  6. Unfortunately your assessment is accurate. The other reason I was concerned about the pick was scouts were pretty certain he was never going to stick at SS.
  7. This is a timely article as we debate trying to compete in 26 or shoot for post lockout. IMO being competitive in 26 is going to require a threading of a needle that is beyond Falveys comfort level and ability. Two difference making bats would have to be acquired by trade and the making of a bullpen almost from scratch. Oh and several players taking a step forward and several like Buck who would have to maintain a high level. Can that be done? Sure but don’t like those odds. Seems like a more sure way to eventual success with higher upside is to blow it up but make sure you get high level minors returns.
  8. Simply wondering. But thanks for the jerk response.
  9. If you are going to try in 2026 and 7 then this makes some sense. If you are going rebuild then you 100% trade him. He’s smart in that he was really good with the challenge system. I would put him back in the traditional catchers stance which will help him throw and block better.
  10. Raya hasn’t been a good AAA pitcher. Why do we think he will be a good big leaguer?
  11. There is zero chance all those prospects end up being legit big leaguers. It’s just the way baseball works.
  12. I really hope EmRod succeeds. We need a good defensive outfielder and if I recall he hits lefties as well. Having said all that I think the bust potential is high. MLB pitchers will make him swing the bat and that is where the swing and miss in his profile becomes a problem ala Julien. If he can harness that then we have a special player. He’s truly a boom or bust prospect.
  13. Another vague non - denial denial. Man this org is unlikeable.
  14. I agree that I would rather have the owners pay. What I really want is some semblance of an even playing field. So again, what is your plan?
  15. To me a bigger question is what are the Twins doing in the Latin market? They have been abysmal in this critical area of talent acquisition.
  16. Interesting article. Here is a weird way to help level the playing field. All players need to be subject to the draft. Ohtani wants to play in the bigs - he goes in the draft. Same thing with Latin players. Not going to solve the problem but it’s going to have to be a bunch of answers because the huge market franchises aren’t going to share their TV money.
  17. 100%. Spot on. Truth. Have the Twins been great at developing players? Nope. But here is the biggest reason: establishing yourself as a bona fide big leaguer is really hard and more players are going to fail than succeed regardless of coaching. This phenomenon is playing out now with Kaelen Culpepper. Some people are penciling him in to be the starting SS starting next summer. I hope he turns into the next big star but he has a long way to go still. If he doesn’t make it we will see a bunch of fans wondering what went wrong and who is to blame.
  18. The only thing that would be more surprising would be if they had a run prevention coach.
  19. Jeffers seemed to be good at challenging this past spring training. Of course very SSS but might be a way to provide more defensive value. I wonder if it becomes worth it for him to go back to a traditional crouch which would help his blocking and throwing. If he doesn’t get a proper strike call due to positioning he can challenge.
  20. Yep. It’s almost like certain people come to this site just to be obnoxious, and of course do it anonymously.
