  1. You have largely described my opinion. They need to take the best 14 pitchers. The first 5 are the starters, number 6 goes to AAA to be the first man up for injuries and the remaining 8 go to the pen regardless of prior role. If another pitcher gets hurt they use a bulk reliever until someone gets stretched out a little - they only pitch 5 anyway. St Paul gets the best of the rest. This plan is predicated on the idea that young pitchers can pitch in the bullpen for a year or two and still become starters. I don’t believe the FO shares my beliefs so I don’t expect this to happen. If they try to construct the bullpen as they have in the past, it will not be good next year. The good bullpen they just blew up took them years to construct.
  2. Bradley and Abel are similar in that they both have good stuff but lack command. When they are hitting their spots they will look great (Bradley last night) when they are missing their spots look out (Abel last night).
  3. I don’t like it but I think this is correct. It’s really doubtful that the Twins compete next year. In one off season they would have to completely overhaul the bullpen and acquire two difference making bats. That ain’t happening. Since 2027 is highly questionable you will have wasted their last two years of control. If you can bring back a couple of athletic young bats and some of this pitching develops you could have a great team in 2028 not a wish and a prayer team which they have now. By the way, anyone who states “ starting pitching logjam” needs to seek immediate help.
  4. Interesting insights. I just think it comes down to his swing. That huge leg kick makes complicated timing of the variability of speed on pitches. He has so much raw power that he could ditch the leg kick and still hit the ball really hard.
  5. I’m glad EmRod is back as we need to see at some point what he can do. I’m not nearly as high on him as most. MLB pitchers will attack him and make him swing. With his swing and miss profile that spells Julien like trouble. And I realize that this is like just my opinion man. Let’s find out.
  6. This. The problem isnt Wallner “clutchness” rather it is his teammates inability to get on base.
  7. SWR looks like he lost 15 pounds.
  8. I noticed that as well. He often looks tentative in the field as well. He had a good game tonight though if you ignore the ball he should have caught to save two runs.
  9. Hell no. Keep Jeffers and the prospect capital - the Orioles would want a haul for him. Plus the Twins are not likely to be good next year and 2027 is in danger so what’s the point?
  10. Good comeback. Springer had a country mile worth of home runs - they were crushed. That baserunning, man these guys are bad.
  11. They have (mostly) a bunch of plodders who don’t even understand the most basic risk / reward dynamics on the bases. What could possibly go wrong? How about teaching these guys fundamentals of baserunning before we turn them loose?
  12. So three hits including a homer with a caught stealing? Gasper has matched Vaskeys production already.
  13. Just horrible baserunning. Wallner is a bad baserunners as well. He’s fast asleep on the pass ball and doesn’t even know how to slide properly. This club is a complete mess.
  14. Martin is brain dead. He has made a seasons worth of bad baserunning in the last two weeks.
  15. The White Sox actually have some promising young players. I would trade lineups with them.
  16. Denard just enlightened us by saying Bradley needs a quick inning. You don’t get that kind of analysis just anywhere.
  17. Keaschalls arm is starting to worry me. On the other hand it might be better than Bradley’s.
  18. Man Bradley has no idea where his pitches are going. First time watching him and I’m not impressed.
  19. We seem to collect pitchers that can’t throw it where they need to. Denard Span is a nice person but is really not a good analyst.
  20. How is the new aggressive baserunning philosophy working for us?
  21. Really nice play by Lee. His arm looked strong on that throw.
  22. Because if they trade Pablo the Twins could make $30-50 million next year and they would get their proportion.
  23. I think there is a better chance than not that this happens. It will be difficult to be a playoff team next year with a stagnant lineup and no bullpen. Then a lockout in 2027 means 2028 is the first year we will compete. Anyone who won’t be here then might as well be traded. All the extra payroll saved will pay the bills during the lockout. It could work if they do a good job on the trades. Of course if they don’t then we will be lost in the desert for a while. Please don’t take this post as me endorsing this idea rather what I think they are likely to do.
