  1. This is from my unreliable memory but didn’t service times get negotiated as part of the last settlement? In other words it might be hard to plan for because they could agree to something different than what it would have been.
  2. IMO Gray should go first - he just cannot play SS. I’d probably keep Kreidler over Arcia just due to age. His elite glove doesn’t look elite to me but he has hit better than expected. I’m guessing over time he will sharpen up in the field and regress at the plate.
  3. I’m not sure I exactly follow but I was using the scale as compared to other big leaguers so 50 would be an average big leaguer. If I had to grade him I would agree with 50 speed and 45 arm, maybe 45/50 arm. I would also say 45/50 glove, 40/45 hit and 55/60 power. My opinion and 50 cents won’t get you a cup of coffee. I wonder if scouts even use this scale in any way. Seems like it would be much more sophisticated.
  4. Respectfully disagree. His sprint speed is average and so is his arm.
  5. Are we sure this is true? This gets repeated a lot but if you were to grade his five tools on a scouting scale the only thing that would be above 50 is hit for power.
  6. If anyone doesn’t understand why ERA is a bogus stat just look at the official scoring from last nights game. Glad the Twins scratched out a win from a bullpen game but our starters are gonna need to pitch efficiently for the next couple of games. Buck was the difference again but Paredes did a nice job.
  7. All the missed plays in the field by both teams and there were…….zero errors.
  8. Adam’s giving it the Fundy. Walking off the mound on a ball 6 inches inside.
  9. Man walking Martin in front of Buck is a mistake.
  10. Tough chance for Keaschall but half the second baseman make it.
  11. One of the issues of a bullpen game with a bad bullpen is you are almost guaranteed that at least one guy is going to suck.
  12. Yep. Paredes has hung in there but looks like he’s tiring.
  13. No way. Herr Kepler, who has a separate shrine also.
  14. Too bad the contact play was on, Buck likely would have beat it out.
  15. This lineup - what could possibly go wrong.
  16. He is incredibly important to the Twins. If he isn’t the SS of the future we likely have a big problem. While I hope Houston is the long term solution there is a very real chance he hits like Kreidler in the show. If neither guy can make the Twins will be unloading valuable assets filling the void.
  17. I don’t get the premise of “he always stinks the first two months”. I believe those games count. I never saw him play first much until this year but had read where he was a subpar defender. Well, after seeing him play that description is very kind. He is awful at first and can’t throw at all. Falvey made many questionable signings but $7 million for this guy tops them all.
  18. I think he can be an offensive contributor. We won’t know anything conclusive in this regard until he has another 600 - 700 at bats. Whats pretty clear at this point is his defense is a problem. He’s athletic so his range is decent but he just butchers too many plays. His arm is an even bigger problem - it’s not strong and he has a funny release that has a little hitch that makes it difficult for him to release the ball quickly. I just hope he doesn’t turn into another guy that is so limited defensively that he has to hit like Carew to justify playing time.
  19. I think Shelton has done a pretty good job of using the relievers in the right situations based on matchups. Gives the pitcher the best chance to succeed so, no, I don’t want set roles in the pen.
  20. I’ve never seen anything compiled but maybe it’s out there. I’m simply pointing out what scouts have said. Perhaps it’s because even the guys that don’t get drafted play 4-5 years there so they are quite a bit older than a high schooler in A ball, who might be 19 or 20
  21. History would suggest that he is hot right now but will come back to earth soon. But let’s keep running him out there and hope we caught lightning in a bottle this one time.
