  1. Run ‘‘em out there any way you want but it still boils down to how many good pitchers you have. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
  2. My concern would be the lack of difference makers. Don’t look now but Falvine has a pretty poor track record with their top picks. I know it’s still too early to make a final judgment but it ain’t looking good right now.
  3. We’ll likely find out. Odds are one of Archer or Bundy is going to stink. Unlike last year we will have someone with potential ready to take that spot.
  4. I don’t necessarily think it indicates anything other than Falvine failed to adequately address our pitching dearth over the off season.
  5. Yea it does. This is pro sports. You don’t get consolation prizes or participation medals. You get judged by the results, nothing else
  6. I’ve got 4 different change ups. The hardest starts at 48 and goes down from there.
  7. Larnach hit two balls right on the screws today. I hope he makes it because I really want Kiriloff at first.
  8. This. I am not aware of any pitcher going thru this surgery that has come back. It’s a crying shame that our one year with Correa is going to be wasted with this pitching staff.
  9. Agree that they now have to do what it takes to obtain starting pitching. Where I differ is that I believe they need two starters not one.
  10. So far Garver Donaldson and Rortvedt the Twins got Sanchez Ursela and $50 million. I know what Jim Pohlad likes best They could have solved all these problems by simply bringing payroll back up to $130 million. That is the primary thing to remember about all this monkey business.
  11. It shouldn’t be overlooked that each of these moves reduces payroll. This might be the most obvious rationale. I also want to point out that Falvine signed Donaldson to that moronic contract that put us in this position.
  12. This. The trade in a vacuum isn’t the whole picture. This is about the Pohlads trying to save some money. Look for a payroll between $115 and 120.
  13. Don’t get it. Could have addressed this for money in free agency. Plus this still doesn’t make them a contender.
  14. Not against trading Garver but thought it would be for pitching. This pretty much tells us what they think about Lewis at SS.
  15. If this is the team the Twins have going into the regular season Falvine and Levine should be fired.
  16. Very interested in finally getting to see what our FO has in mind. I’ve been withholding judgment until the lockout is over. Eagerly awaiting the rabbit to be pulled out of the hat.
  17. If he works that quickly he is my new favorite Twins pitcher.
  18. You can’t take him that high without proof he is physically sound. And as Doc says if he provides medical showing no issues he won’t be there at 9.
  19. First off the real problem is that it is really hard to be an above average MLB SS. the attrition rate for prospects at this position is always going to be way higher than elsewhere. Having said that Lewis was the first pick overall in the draft. If he can’t play above average SS in the bigs then this pick was a bust. If he can’t play short his best value might be in CF as trade bait.
  20. The problem with the premise of this article is that you are banking on a series of best possible outcomes. It’s just not likely to happen. At this point I hope the Twins don’t double down and trade a bunch of prospects for pitching they could have with money. I would be willing to trade Arreaz and Garver.
  21. Seems to be a very intelligent person. Man would it be huge if he could thrive at SS in the bigs. I like the speed aspect as well. The Twins have drifted towards are plodding lineup if Royce can make it he and Buck will make some plays. Still think he has to ditch the leg kick….
