  1. I liked Arraez at 1st more than Sano...
  2. That can be changed. He probably has a better chance of earning bonuses based on appearances.
  3. Will they move back to a six man rotation when Gray comes off the IL? I don't see how that will work once the rosters shrink. Here's a thought, maybe move Archer to the bullpen with the hope he can eventually close some games. In his first two starts he was hitting mid nineties the first time through the order. Maybe he can add a tick or two if he only has to pitch one or two innings. It may also be a way to inject new life into his career. Smoltz and Eckersley successfully made the transition.
  4. The question is, how long can they keep going with one and a half catchers on the roster? Jeffers gave his body to the cause tonight.
  5. Not unexpected, but disappointing. He had a big arm at one point. Maybe a change of scenery will help.
  6. What is going on with this team? They're sleep walking through April... again. If this continues Baldelli needs to go, even if only to shake things up and get a different voice in the dugout. It's embarrassing. No one wants to watch this crap for another summer.
  7. I have the Royals feed. Does anyone know why Gordon was lifted for Garlick?
  8. If you don't like the shift, then learn to hit the ball the other way. Teams get to put nine players on the field. Where they place them has been part of baseball strategy since the knickerbockers played the Highlanders.
  9. I was mystified by the series of moves right after the lockout. I didn't feel there was a need to unload Donaldson's contract. That said, the Correa signing made up for it, and I will say Sanchez has not been the waste of a roster spot I feared. He looks "ok" behind the plate. Where the front office lost me again was the Rogers trade. I don't get it. If they are really making moves for 2023, as some suspected all along, then it makes sense, since they were not going to spend the money to keep him. But then why sign Correa to what will likely be a one year deal?
  10. I agree the Cotton move was odd. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but with a bullpen with so many question marks, it's strange that they would cut him loose without even really giving him a chance.
  11. I'm in the camp that doesn't really get this trade. I just can't believe they blew a hole in their bullpen for a reclamation project like Paddack. Given that....I'm hoping that PTBNL is someone the Twins really covet, and not some toss-in/lotto ticket type.
  12. Not having a real closer killed this team last year, and it looks like history is repeating itself.
  13. This is last year all over again. It's not just the losses and digging themselves a hole, but they gotta kick us in the nuts in the process.
  14. "Neither Falvey nor Levine would comment on the fact that TC Bear is not a real bear, but in fact a person in a pretend bear costume....." LIES!!!
  15. I give it a D. The only reason I don't give it an F is because Rogers was probably gone after the season anyway. People can look at all the peripheral stats they want, but the fact is Paddack hasn't been good for the last two years. This tells me either the league has figured him out or he's playing hurt. I don't believe this trade made the Twins better. Maybe Falvine sees something in him that us mere mortals do not. I hope they're right.
  16. Bumping Ober to the pen would be the wrong move, mainly because Ober is a better pitcher than Paddack. Archer is not stretched out, so I'm guessing someone will be splitting innings with him for the first few weeks. I would put Paddack in the pen until the situation works itself out.
  17. Also looks like Stashak got moved to 10 day IL.
