  1. Ryan 65 pitches through 5, 42 of them strikes. This guy is pretty good.
  2. Larnach picks up Miranda!
  3. Need their big boy pants on today vs. Gilbert. Hope the Twins surprise and jump him early.
  4. I am wondering whether they will DFA him when Lewis comes back. He has not performed well, to be sure. Hope he figures things out---soon. And CCHOF is right; Kearsey has been killing it a AAA in all 3 areas Margot has deficient in.
  5. Those two players did look bad, but Castillo is one heck of a pitcher and his stuff looked nasty tonight. Correa was the only one who seemed to be able to barrel him up at all.
  6. Re: Max. I counseled last winter that their true choice was to either trade him or extend him. Now if they choose to keep him it is gonna cost them!
  7. 1) Ownership cutting payroll even before they knew how the TV issue would be resolved; 2) FO for LOUSY decisions on how to spend the available funds. Farmer, Santana, and Margot. DeScal trade. No meaningfull SP additions, only subtractions. 3) Batters are underperforming, especially with RISP. Pathetic.
  8. All accurate. Plus cutting payroll 20% after a good season. Terribly disappointing approach to the season. This really emphasized the tired "Twins are cheap" idea. But this year, it rings very true.
  9. Wish they had been rained out. Correa out for God knows how long. To add insult to that injury, all the minor league squads got smoked tonight, too. Good night.
  10. Does not look good for tonight, have no idea if they are going to try and fit it in. Rain showers and 24 mph winds, not ideal for outdoor baseball to be sure!
  11. Weather looks pretty wet on Friday, too. Would certainly rather play the games later in the season when-hopefully-the bats are going.
  12. Buxton ends the streak! Woohoo! Now need to get the BA with RISP above the Mendoza line.
  13. Darn, Twins can't reach 20 K;s. Max will be 18. This is unwatchable baseball. Dodgers are superior team in EVERY way. These 2 teams could play 10 games and the Twins might win 1. Nice parity, MLB.
  14. 0--28, and counting. I read that the 2022 Cubs went 0-47, so we do have a ways to go with the 2024 Twins.
  15. And the beat goes on. Glasnow is excellent; Twins hitter are hapless right now.
  16. 0-27, I wonder what the MLB record is?
  17. The time to "shuffle" the lineup was during the offseason when they decided to reduce payroll 20% and made mediocre signings and traded away a decent hitter for an old, lame-armed pitcher who was being paid by 2 different organizations to just go away and a bullpen arm and a prospect. Why the Twins were projected to win the division is a mystery. Regression was inevitable.
  18. Well, another 0-11 with RISP in today's offensive gem. At least it was quick. I am getting quite alarmed over this O's inability to generate runs. Twins now 0-25 in last 2.5 games, and 9 for 72 for the season, an incredibly inept .125 BA with RISP. Please let me know when a SSS becomes a major problem, ok?
  19. They did not hit well in ST, either, but everyone poo-poo'ed that and said everyone was "working on something." I, at least, am quite concerned about their lack of offense.
  20. In 2023, the MLB average batting average with RISP was .258. The Twins hit .252. Not good, but not terrible. So far in 2024, they are hitting .148, 9 for 61. Whoof! You would think and hope this would regress to the mean, but the Twins are really, really struggling after a brutal 0 for 12 in today's game. They certainly miss Royce Lewis, as he seems to perform very well in that situation.
  21. (Hopefully the reverse jinx will work and Kepler will smash a couple balls now!)
  22. Does Kepler have options? He needs a stint at AAA to get straightened out unless he gets going in the balance of this series. He is not helping at all right now, obviously.
  23. That was such an obvious Sac Bunt situation. I just fail to comprehend how you DON"T sac there.
