Very nice article. It is definitely though provoking. I am not in favor of MLB regular season games being played overseas games. Nor am I a fan of any of our pro leagues playing regular season games in other countries. I understand the reason behind it in trying to generate more interest and money. But it also takes some money from the teams that lose home games to this. Yes I'm sure they are compensated for ticket sales. But the people around the stadiums that rely on income generated from those games are short changed. Let's not forget after all many of the stadiums in all major league sports were paid for in part by tax dollars. Seeing Major League baseball or National Football and National hockey league in other venues is not the way to go. Play in your park that was built for you .

Wow! Craziness. 425 million in debt, the highest in baseball. I'm actually speechless. Who would want to buy this team?

I agree with the premise of this article. I am surprised they haven't already signed him to a 100,000,000 7 year contract Ala Byron Buxton. After all isn't that the going Twins rate for playing 100 games or less for the Twins?

Duran was pretty good last year. But he definitely wasn't great. But losing 9 games as a "closer" isn't great or shutdown. Maybe too much concern about his velocity idk. Major league hitters can hit a 100 mph fastball today especially if it doesn't have much movement or is center cut. We do need him to be better this year if we are to be playoff contenders.

I've been following the Twins for 60 years. Yes that makes me old. But I'm very skeptical of this years team. The team plays very boring and undisciplined baseball. Ì don't blame the Pohlads as much as Falvey and the rest of the front office. They have done a very poor job of managing the payroll given them. They need to have a good start to the season. Go Twins.

Great well written article. But just another overdone metric in the mostly ridiculous analytic era of baseball.

Those lists are maybe entertaining but that's about all. I don't put much credence into these types of things. Who cares if Correa is 83rd or 3rd. You still have to play the games and put up numbers. I don't think overall that the Twins players and their top prospects are highly regarded at all.

Great article. Very upbeat and positive. Twins will need a much better season from Duran than last season. I too believe Rocco needs to use him better. The only part of your article I don't agree with is trying to blame hus down season in part to bad luck. He lost 9 games in relief. His ERA was 3.64. Your " closer" has to do better. Using the new analytics to twist a poor season into bad luck is not helpful. He didn't pitch well last season. It happens. I hope he is back on top in 2025

Another 2 months off for Lewis looks possible. What else Is new? Buxton 2.0. Then at the end of the season Lewis will again claim he's tired and worn out. Just like last year.
  10. Whitey333
    Yes. Retire Johans number.
  11. Whitey333
Love your article! Seems like reasonable selections to the 26 man roster. It's hard to miss Lewis as he spends more time injured than playing. Twins need to begin considering moving on from Lewis before they get the urge to give him a $100,000,000 contract to play part time like Byron Buxton!
  12. Whitey333
What's more of a surprise? Lewis getting injured or the Twins continued insistence of keeping him. He is Buxton 2.0. Maybe he can turn it into a 7 year $100;000,000 million dollar deal too. Then he can sit for 10 years and hardly ever play. What a fragile "player" he is. Sheesh!
  13. Whitey333
I agree with the article. I also believe Correa should be added there. However the team as a whole needs a good start to the season due to last years disastrous finish. I believe last year they started slowly again and they essentially told us that the early games don't really matter. Well I would like to see some urgency when they play. At least give the appearance they actually care. A 7-13 start would be disastrous IMO.

These prospects have a lot to prove. This is an important year in their development for them and the Twins. Lee, Julien, Martin, Miranda, need to show the can be regular MLB players. So far they haven't proven much of anything. Also if they make the major league team they must play regularly. Platooning and playing part time will hurt both the players and the team.
  15. Whitey333
I agree with the article and the comments from a previous poster. Miranda surely isn't the only one that needs to prove he belongs. Add Julien, Lee, Martin, and a host of others. It's put up time.

The Twins have generally had a payroll around or just slightly under the average fir MLB teams. Although I surely support and hope for a sale to owners that may be mire committed to winning I must admit that I think payroll has been ok overall. I also think Falvey has done a rotten job of budgeting that payroll. People that are expecting someone to come in and dump tobs of money on payroll may be very disappointed. Yes new owners would be great if they are committed ti the area and development of the team. I just hope we don't get worse than what we have like the Marlins and Rays.
  17. Whitey333
I would imagine his spring training performance excites people just like Lopez spring pitching performance can be so negative. Like a previous poster said the Twins can be good IF people produce. That's an issue for 2025. Way too many ifs for the 2025 Twins.
  18. Whitey333
I'm very surprised that the Twins haven't made the entire pitching staff utility players as well as pitchers lol. That way they could be just like the sandlot teams that they are. Everyone can play everywhere philosophy doesn't produce championship teams. Go Twins.
  19. Whitey333
To include the home opener in the Twins Pass may signal that tickets aren't selling real well. Are they still limiting the other April home games to just lower bowl again?
  20. Whitey333
These prospects in the pitching pipeline are just that. Prospects or suspects. I think Paddock could be traded but let's get serious. He is not bringing much back. He really has done very little the past two years or so. Pitching pipeline? Let's see some results first then yes if need be trade to improve but not to salary dump.

Great article. Thanks for the updates

Catering proving to be a wasted space on the 40 man roster.

The linè that this is one of the best bullpen in baseball was used last year as well. That didn't work out so well. They led all of baseball in letting inherited runs score and by a lot. The bullpen is supposed to help put out the fire not fan the flames. In addition our closer last year lost 9 games and blew several save opportunities. Losing 9 games from your closer was catastrophic. They are going to need him to be healthy and produce. In todays game you better have a great bullpen of you plan on being à contender. Their building the bullpen on the cheap may cost them again.
  24. Whitey333
At the start of last season the Twins were touted as having the best bullpen in baseball. That didn't work out too well. The team had by far the worst record in all of baseball for letting inherited runs score. Part of a bullpen job is to put out fires not fan them. Plus one of their main closers, Dhuran, was charged with 9 losses last year out of the bullpen. Let's wait and see. I hope they turn out to be great. They will be needed.
  25. Whitey333
Great article. I agree with your analysis of Correa. He has a great history and he's now with an organization that sanders to the oft injured. What could possibly go wrong?
