  1. It would be cool to see what their stats were when DHing.
  2. I think 3rd will belong to Lee once he adjusts to MLB pitching. Lewis could be GG quality at 1st!
  3. Must be a Minnesota jinx. Look at how many Wild players have been hurt, and now we're starting out with Twins players getting hurt. Are us poor "fly over" citizens doomed to suffer through a season of injuries with the ball club too?
  4. I think whoever starts the season there, they will be a place holder til Keaschall is ready. I would eventually like to see an IF of Lewis at 1st, Keaschall at 2nd, Correa at ss, and Lee at 3b. That's a fairly young and cost controllable group that may be a very good IF!
  5. I would say the peak of that group was 2019. by 2023 all that was left really was Buxton and Polonco. 2023 was the high point (so far) for this new group. This group is based on strong starting pitchers, and mostly guys with higher slugging pct. As such, I give this squad a better chance of winning. If a new owner comes on the scene, a little more eager to win, (and spend) this team could be a very good team for the next 5-7 years.
  6. I wouldn't read to much into Wallner leading off in ST. I believe he's batting leadoff now just to make sure he gets his AB's in. While the stats may say he should leadoff, I would rather keep him in the 3-5 slots to have a chance to drive in a few runs.
  7. IMO they should give Lee a lot of tome this year. Give him enough rope to swing or hang. Have to find out what they have.
  8. I think 1st base is the eventual landing spot for Lewis. If Lee starts hitting he can shift to 3rd, and at some point, Keaschall can take 2nd. Probably not this season, but in the not too distant future.
  9. I think they need to make a trade with Philly to try to keep the rule 5 player and give him some time in either AA or AAA.
  10. I would say Nelson Cruz was a very good leader looking from the outside.
  11. I imagine he will start in AAA just to get some consistent AB's. Coming off surgery he will need some time to get the feeling for throwing back. In St. Paul he can also get time at DH w/o blocking the spot on the Twins. I fully expect him to get called up a little later in the season.
  12. I've followed this team from the beginning. I've seen some pretty bad teams. Yet every spring I'm hoping for a winning season. Who knows? Somebody unexpected could jump up and have a career year! I prefer not to think of things like injuries (liriano blowing out his arm). And some of the best players walking away for bigger payrolls. Each season has its problems, but in the spring I just ignore them. After all, they're tied for 1st place in the standings!
  13. Haven't really heard much about him before this. Looks like someone to watch to see how he does as he gets bumped up through the system
  14. Most look realistic, but I'm pretty sure France is close to a sure lock to make the opening day roster.
  15. Agree with you. Why not go with youth and potential for the last spot, someone that will be around for a few years.
  16. I wonder how they compare to the rest of the league. I'm sure they all have some problems, but the Twins seem to be snakebit lately anyways.
  17. Only time will tell. It all sounds nice and on paper looks great. But, how will they execute? Really, this team wasn't put together with a lot of guys who can run or handle a bat. The FO put together the team with an eye towards power. And that's fine, if you have 2-3 guys that get on base often, and can run. It will be interesting to see how new owners will change things. Will Falvey be gone? If so that usually means a new manager and field staff.
  18. I also think Lewis should be moved to 1st. Lee looked good at 3rd last year. Let Castro have 2nd, at least until Keaschall is ready.
  19. All positions should be earned, not given. IMO, the guys that look the best in ST should get roster spots. Of course, that would be a perfect world.
  20. There's that phrase again that really scares me, Best pen in the league. I sure hope that happens but after all the hype last pre-season, I'm very doubtful.
