  1. With Austin Martin, perhaps our best bunter, at the plate. This game was not Rocco's finest hour.
  2. The problem is that by carrying dead weight like Margot, it removes the ability to have a real second baseman on hand. I know that that is the reason Farmer is on the team to replace the gloveless wonder late in games, but Rocco completely negated that opportunity today with his managing.
  3. I have been saying for years that Julien is not a major league player. Yes, Rocco managed horribly but my question is why that guy is on this team?
  4. Boy we were close to going 6-1 on this trip without Buxton and Correa. I may be alone in this opinion, but I really like Trevor Plouffe in the booth.
  5. There is no way this team can be successful with the current structure of the bullpen. BTW, Correa and Buxton are not relief pitchers. The bullpen has been a major problem all season and still cannot believe that the front office did not acquire a left-hander at the trading deadline. So, this season is essentially going down the drain due to an inadequate bullpen and front office ineptitude. How frustrating!!
  6. Where is going to play at on this team? Not so sure he was "looking good" at AAA. Must admit I have never been a big fan of his as I just see a lot of issues with his game.
  7. Julien is completely lost at the plate and is going to get hurt playing second. That line drive that hit off his glove tonight could have been serious.
  8. Twins are saying that the reason for the IL stint is because they are not sure he would be able to play the next five or six games. With a seven-game road trip ahead, they thought it would be wise to carry as many able bodies as they could. All indications are that he should be able to go when they get back home.
  9. At the end of the season, when we bemoan the games, we could have won, this may be one that we look back at as one that we should have lost.
  10. No. I would rather we throw some young arms in there and see what happens.
  11. I think my basic problem with the trade is the front office's perpetual trading decisions with regards to injured pitchers. As I watched Tyler Mahle pitch for Texas the other night, it reminded me of the great prospects we traded for a fellow who most can't remember pitching for us. The Lamone Wade jr. trade and many others for pitchers who did not log more than 50 innings with us. I just don't understand the logic behind it.
  12. Because he has this intense fascination with Margot. He has had it all season.
  13. Sending him down until September would not be a bad idea. Remember Buxton was yo-yo'ed between AAA and the majors several times before finally settling in. One other question, why can we not play Lewis at short? This gets Miranda and Lewis and a DH in the lineup at the same time and frees Castro up.
  14. Random thoughts: - I may be in a minority but will be glad when the day comes when Santana and Margot are no longer Twins. - Anyone still question Buxton's contract? - Did anyone notice after the almost collision between Lee and Kepler, that Lee turned his back on him and ran off the field without a word? Usually there is a brief conversation between players when that happens, sometimes they laugh it off. Kepler had a strange look on his face as Lee trotted off. - While on the subject of Lee, he apparently is dealing with some physical issues, i.e., moved from short to second after lineups posted and weak throw on the DP later in the game. - Agree with earlier posters, consider Dodnak contract sunken cost and move on.
  15. We need to keep BYRON F-ING BUXTON healthy as well. He is quietly putting together the best season of his career. With the Mike Trout news, it is sure nice to have such a great player roaming center field on a daily basis.
  16. Happen to catch the eighth and ninth innings of their game last night. What an incredible series of plays by an incredible player.
  17. Agree with Blyleven that a quality start ought to be two or fewer runs over seven innings. Also, why is Miranda playing third?
