    Hughes will be bullpen rotation depth next year, Gibson should be nontendered after this year. Santiago will be an FA. You will need 3-4 starters, plus 4-5 relievers next year. I am all for starting to indentify them now. How else are you going to have an idea of how many you have to buy on the market this winter?

    I was on the bandwagon early on to sign Holland. Front office is still evaluating. Still feel that Molitor has overriding high level support and he is calling the shots. Otherwise would have fired him already. Reason FO has not brought relievers up is that Molitor will not use them. He is the problem, it is time to move on.

    Disagree on Bard, but understand the point. Bard was a compensation pick and not a lower pick that looks good. We should at least move some of these pitchers to AAA and see what they have.

    I would still lean toward Greene. He could be a one in 10 year or 20 year talent. Wright would be my second choice. College pitcher, here in 2 - 3 years. Feel the kid from NC is too likely to end up as a closer(not bad, but not in my book 1-1). Rest do not look like 1-1 to me. Maybe the high school lefty, but he might be too hard to predict. I am betting that if Twins do not take Greene or Wright and the pick flames out, the pitchforks and tar will be out in full force on this board.

    What the Twins need is a few more rainouts. Then we will get to see all the pitching depth without any issues. Probably will force MLB to change the 26th man rules.

    I do not know how difficult it is to get a GM from another organization during the season, I expect it is impossible. So waiting until the end of the year was the only thing Pohlad could do, once he decided to go outside the organization. I was a TR defender and maybe the move should have been made earlier, but that is water under the dam. GM and top of organization changes come over winter, not in midseason unless you are promoting from within, The only other change you can make is to hire someone currently unemployed, I did not see any of that type I would want to run the Twins.

    Twins will have plenty of opportunity for more starters. Maybe some bullpen games. This years starting pitching will probably not hold up. Hopefully by that time the bullpen will be deeper, so it will nobig an issue. Wait and see.

    Would still rather have Greene as he could be a 1 in 10 year talent, but Wright is my second choice. Do not feel a #2 ceiling and a 1B floor should go 1:1

    Castro is fine for what the Twins wanted. Jury out on starting rotation. Power, Twins have more than they have had for years, what is your complaint is this area.

    We also forget about Bard, he is also burning up the Southern league. It is time to get some of these pitchers to Rochester and here now. A couple of pitchers Moltior does not even use(Wilk, Breslow). Time to cut bait and get some relievers here that could help.

    A lot of the Twins better talent is High A or lower. That will certainly reduce the overall ranking.That does not mean there is not talent there. Plus injuries have hurt, wait until and end of year evaluations to bring out the pitchforks. My guess is the Twins will be close to or in the top 10 at the end of the year.

    Wheeler and Bradley still have chances to have very productive major league careers, so on these the jury is still out.

    This is exactly why you take Greene.

    Given the current playoff structure an ace is a huge advantage. You cannot discount that. That is why I put Wright second if you are determined to take a college pitcher. McKay may be here faster,but the Twins do not need more #3 starters, there are plenty of them in the system.

    I am also still on board with Greene, with Wright as a distance second choice. Twins need talent and stuff, not more command and control pitchers. They may be safer, but do not turn into aces.

    Buxton is more valuable long term, but could be done after 2018. Sano window is shorter, I would start with Sano. Buxton's contract will also be less, possibly much less and probably only cover 1 to 2 FA years, to me Sano is the new face of the franchise, let's pay him. Also his skill does not diminish as fast as other skills. His hitting could well last to between 35 - 40 depending on how well he took care of himself.

    Have you noticed the comment that he would like to be the guy to break $50 million a year. Wait another year and any deal chance except an overpay may be off the table.

    If you haven't noticed, most of the pitchers you gave as examples, burned out at or before 30. Not a great recommendation.

    I say pay the man. I would guess that 10/$350 would get it done. Maybe you could get by for $300. That would take him to age 34, but I feel anything less would not get it done. He probably wants to win on a consistent basis and play for a coast team. If you do not lock him up by the end of 2018, you will only be able to sign him if he does not become a mega superstar. Less and you are gambling he wants to be here and I do not want to lose him after his age 28 season.

    This year Twins are pretenders, just don't blow it and try to be more. In the next couple of years you need to sign an ace to get to the next level. Twins need this year to see which young BP pieces will be here and which will not. That will take most of this year.

    I would consider sending him down, as we need to start evaluating the relievers in Rochester and Chattanooga to see what we can count on going forward, starting with Melenkois. (I know I can't spell).

    Doubt Harvey not being on a team will happen in the near future. However he is costing himself money after 2018, especially if he is not pitching better than a #3 starter. Teams will overlook some behavior issues from a 1 or a 2, but lower is becomes a factor in both pay and whether you want him on your team.

    Depends on what you like for pizza. I like deep dish, have been to both Uno's and Duo's. Here there are several others also, would love to try it again.

    I am still on Greene. Do not always like the possibility of a swing and miss, but he could be a one in 10 year type of talent. Will not be happy if the Twins do not draft him.

    I have to disagree with the above. The only reason the Twins farm system is only at a mid rank position is that most of the talent is further away. Except for some pitchers there is very little talent at Rochester and only at little more at Chattanooga Granite, Park, and Gordon(maybe Vielma) are the only position players on these teams, I feel we will see for more that a cup of coffee in Minnesota. I would love to be wrong, but this is how I see it. .
