  1. Rosario is a gamer and does very good things (along with some bonehead plays). My issue is the league viewpoint of Rosario and when the league is walking Cruz to pitch to him, this speaks volumes to me.
  2. To get anywhere near a front line pitcher a trade is going to hurt in the terms of prospects. One of the outfielders, I can see that as we have an extra or two, Lewis could be very special, I might see trading him, but would want an ace type starter with multiple (at least 3) years of control. Twins have the money for pitching, use it.
  3. Like the idea of the trade for Anderson. If you are willing to go 4/88 for Baumgardner, then why not pay more for Wheeler. Diekman seems high, and do not like him that much with the three batter minimum next year. Like most of this, but not sure about the move for Gallen, seems high to give up that much. Fixing the infield defense will mean a lot, lots of questions there.
  4. Nice approach, but who will you target, and for the real good ones, they other club want plenty. Are you willing to trade both Lewis and Kirloff, because that is the ask.
  5. FA's cost only money, Twins could well need the depth until they figure out which prospects are keepers
  6. I am in favor of extending the top 3, Berrios, Sano, Buxton. Buxton is the hardest to figure, but could be the least valuable and could be the most. Will depend on what he wants. Berrios will not be cheap, but get it done. After next year may well be too late. Sano I would do, might have to have some weight clauses (if legal) or other ways to keep him in shape. Hopefully Cruz gets him straightened out before he leaves.
  7. I am not expecting Cron back. I also think there are too many bouncing balls of players who could be up by midseason to pay Cron, and then to have to cut a player or two from the position players. Lewis, Raley, Kirloff, Larnach, Gordon could all be here in 2020. Being totally locked in will not be good if one of them forces there way on the club. Would like to see some trades for better players/pitchers with some of the minor league excess. Would also like to see the money from not having Cron and 1 or two others back pumped into the pitching staff.
  8. I am hoping more for the 160 -170 range including landing either Cole or Strasburg (I much prefer Cole).
  9. Oderizzi will be fine. I posted that he would get 3/51 from the Twins. This I feel is a little high, would like to keep it to 3/45 or a little higher. If he gets 3/51 somewhere else Twins I believe would get a comp pick after round 1 and signing team will give up their second round pick. Other thing is I do not believe there are many contending clubs that would pay that price for a pitcher that has been about 50-50 to be above average. I still am hoping the Twins sign him.
  10. I would say Duran, Rio, Jax, Javier for sure. Raley and Chalmers possible. It is much easier to stash a pitcher for a year and let them pitch in blowouts to start and see if they can handle the major leagues (or have enough talent not to send back). Remember one of the key past Twins moves was stashing Johan Santana that way. Blankenhorn and Celesto both are on the edge for me. For Celesto I would have to see if he is better than Wade and or Raley, Blankenhorn I might try and bundle and trade as I do not see a spot in the near future in the Twin Cities.

    2020 Blueprint

Do not want Gibson at any price, and I think you feel that Hoffman is worth more than he is (and why would the Rockies trade any halfway decent pitcher)
  12. Twins probably have another 5 to 6 people to drop, and looking at a younger pitcher who can be fixed is a good thing
  13. Dobnak to me is a #5 starter on a good to great team. We still need to sign at least 2 starters if not 3. If Dobnak is supposed to be more than a #5 starter, Twins will have another make the playoffs, and depart quickly when we see a team with better pitching.
  14. Sano will be the 1B in the next few years. Twins cannot afford to have below average (well below) over the next couple of years. So Sano to 1B is to me a given. Now Garver could play some there to give Sano some off days, but seems to be the Twins should sign a SS and move Polanco to 2B and Arrenz to 3B.
  15. Let Cron walk, we need money for pitching, and signing a stopgap 3B or SS would make more sense, moving Sano to 1B. Our infield was below average defensively last year, so move Sano to 1B, Arreaz to 3B, Polonco to 2B, and sign a stopgap defense wiz to man SS until Lewis arrives (or Javier who is a little further away). We need to pump a lot of money into pitching, so this makes the most sense.
  16. Someone to push Cave would be good, we also have Wade and now Raley. Hope the Twins make a couple of deals to convert some of this talent to the major league level.
  17. Won't he have to be posted or is he in a different class of player or already has his time in. Like the out of box thinking.
  18. I think the money is too low on Cole, my guess is that it will take an AAV of $35 to sign him and could approach $40 if the Yankees get involved in a big way. Harper would be let go in my world and so would Cron. Move Sano to 1B and find a 3B who could field, Twins infield defense was well below average, and we need to fix that to compete. Our pitchers need to have outs made when possible.
  19. Time to go get an ace. Whether it be Cole or Strasburg, I don't get, just get one of the two, QO and resign Oderizzi, resign Pineda if the price is right (he seems to like it here), and then you only have to fill the 5 slot, which can be done with a revolving door or one rookie stepping up. It is hard to tell how good some of Cleveland's pitchers are, given the Central Division is not that good. This season should be a better test.
  20. Twins need a top of rotation piece, rather than mid level pieces. Like Gray and Musgrove as fall back position, if we cannot resign oderizzi and Pineda. Given Kepler's back issue, would not want to trade Rosario until sure Kepler is healthy. Would rather open checkbook and sign either Cole or Strasburg.
  21. The difference between Cole or Strasburg and Wheeler may be $10 million a year. The difference is results, priceless.
  22. Time to buy an ace. Either Cole or Strasburg will do. QO Oderizzi, and resign Pineda.(At the right price). Extend Berrios and Buxton, decide what to do with Rosario. Buy a few bullpen pieces and call it a day. Removing Gibson and Perez along with Dyson should free up some money. Maybe we need to get to the $160 million payroll to have a chance.
  23. We have a chance. Still find it hard to believe that some writers think the Yankees starting pitching is better than ours. Twins have to get ahead early and keep hitting. Force the Yankees to decide early how much of their good bullpen they want to use to keep the chance to catch up. Fall behind early and it will be difficult. Go Twins!
  24. Do you ever hold events in the summer when I am around (somewhat).
