  1. I agree. Julien also has issues hitting lefties but its a different metric since Julien isn't a switch hitter.
  2. I completely understand that issue and that Lee has to develop his craft against lefties. Is there any data that can support getting that specific development in AAA vs. MLB if all other developmental factors point to an MLB promotion is in order?
  3. I understand the possibility of wasting time as much as its ok to let him develop because its never a waste to play every day to develop his skills at the appropriate level. Its a double edged sword because you don’t actually know how well he will play in MLB until he actually plays in MLB. there is always a way to add the right player into a lineup if he will make the team better. Julien a DH is the simplest lineup change but I can think of others. I just think its awesome that we have these conversations instead of talking about a lack of depth.
  4. 2 dads that raised their boys the right way.
  5. I’m not saying its going to happen in April but what if Lee’s ST says he belongs on the 26 man. Where do you fit him in? Or do you leave him in AAA to steal that extra year of control? What is best for the organization as a whole if its 100% clear that Lee is ready for the show?
  6. Of course 3 weeks of stats is insignificant. What is significant is playing in AAA at 22yo. As previously stated, spring training will dictate where Lee plays in April. Hopefully he isn’t promoted just because some vet is hurt. Thats not a good scenario for anyone. All I am saying is don’t be surprised to see Lee at Target Field sooner rather than later.
  7. The last 16 games at AAA at the end of ‘23 said he is ready. Its also been reported that he has done extensive work this offseason in fort myers so at this point, his spring training work will probably speak more to where he plays in april.
  8. It will be interesting to see Lee on the opening day roster and where they play him. Falvey said that as soon as Lee says he is ready, they will find a place for him on the 26 man. They are obviously high on the young man and will go against years of holding back prospects n the minors. Lee wont be traded and he wont be in the minors much if at all in ‘24 unless he wants to be in AAA. I don’t know many players that don’t want to play on varsity when given the green light.
  9. Santana seems like another ageless wonder. After the last two years of excessive injuries, we are set up for another deep playoff run if the injury bug is finally gone.
  10. Even if Gray’24 is better than Gray ‘23 (unlikely) who cares unless he beats us in the WS. We got guys to step up and pitch well. We might even be better off giving the young guys more innings. Every season is different.
  11. $1 dog night has been canceled due to inflation. Didnt think $1.27 would work with the exclusion of a bun $.68 extra and each condiment priced @$.39 No cash. Minimum credit card charge of $13 applies.
  12. Shrewd move. Trading redundancy for a need. Good luck Nick!!
  13. It’s not commensurate because the Pohlads are on the silly side of risk adverse.
  14. https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/guardians-twins-rangers-regional-networks-deal-approved-by-bankruptcy-judge/ Not much detail in this story but we are stuck with Bally for 2024.
  15. Is this list predicting beginning of the season or end? As in prospect breaking camp as a rookie type status?
  16. If Buck can physically play in CF, why wouldn’t they send him out there close to every day? You know that he will be asking to play every day.
  17. Great list!! A lot can happen in 2 years and yes, best case senario is that Jenkins is off the ‘26 list. I will play the substitute game and throw in our MiLB gold glove short stop Miller. He finds his bat and will be on the cusp of a rookie debut in ‘26. Cant have a top 5 prospect list without the next Gagne.
  18. Erod isn’t going to be included in a package for other prospects. He could be a starting OF in 2025.
  19. I would say those arb salaries look about right and the Pohlads will need to spend more $$$ on Salaries going forward. It would not be surprising for them to replace the 4 FA’s with league minimum types from the farm/low FA salaries. Unless the pitching pipeline pops out an ace this year and another viable starter, we absolutely need to go shopping for someone at market price. per fangraphs, 12 players are eligible for Arb 1,2 or 3
  20. According to fan graphs. 2025 starts at $95M pre arbitration without Santana, Kepler, DeSclafani and Thielbar. The $95 M includes options on Farmer, Alcala and Jackson 2024 is at 131M-8M cash = $123M I do think the FO will get more/better pitching by the deadline but it does make one wonder why they didn’t go get someone at a more reasonable cost earlier this offseason.
  21. They are waay below even their self imposed upper limit. Even by their standards, there is a path to paying for a front line SP. They simply choose not to.
  22. It seems like he understands that he has to stay on the field. Maybe maturity is finally catching up to him? At this point, with all the disappointment as fans, we just need to enjoy every inning, every at bat and see where his career ends. As unlikely as it seems, it may end a decade from now after we witness some amazing performances. On the flip side, he might be retiring soon. I would bet that he will still be playing at a high level years from now.
  23. He is definitely an exciting player to watch! I don’t see the regression being much of a possibility. He was available because of under performance and last year he took a development step that was late in happening. If his development would have come sooner, he would not be a Twin. He has the tools, he has experience, confidence and a different place in the daily Baldelli field rotation. I expect him to play 6 different positions throughout’24. He is entering his prime. He will produce prime numbers.
  24. He seems like the type of guy that wants to take on the biggest challenges. He is going to see more strikes early in the count this year and he will be crushing them. He just seems to have that extra star quality some guys lack. His bat speed and thump are simply impressive! It sounds like his goal is a late season call up this year so if he does crush early in AA, don’t underestimate that he could be a starting COF in ‘25 with Buxton and Wallner.
  25. Thats some serious info right there. Some sort of scouting expertise that is focused on certain traits?
