    It definitely takes a lot of luck to be successful in the amateur draft!! I believe Lee will be on the Varsity team next year! Either out of training camp or mid may as we are notorious for manipulating service time. I wish they would promote Lee to AAA yesterday and Varsity for a playoff run this Sept/Oct. I’d bet serious $$$ that Walker Jenkins and Charlee Soto will be the best of the best of MN draft picks turned MLB stars that were taken early in the drafts. Thank god they didnt go with another Sabato type and instead went with Soto!!

    I saw something where our farm system dropped to 27th and is top end heavy. (Post draft 2023). I believe whoever wrote that is participating in Minnesotas new found freedom to get lit. I believe we are just outside of the top 10. Im also confident that 3 of the college pitchers taken this year will be making varsity impact in 2025 along with Raya and SWR. Balazovich and Canterino are the wild cards and they have taken longer to get where they should have been but that happens. As far as CF, I think its going to be a rotating door for at least another 3 seasons.

    Speaking of the Marlins, Polanco could help them out as they will actually have a chance to win a series or two this October. It would be nice to trade Polanco and get some sort of decent prospect for him.

    We have been horrible against LH pitchers like the one that is starting today so if we can rattle him and win “not so ugly”, we might be able to infer actual success that may stick with the team for the remainder of 2023.

    Wellll. We have went from grotesque losses to winning ugly. Seems like a vast improvement in the hitting/scoring runs strategy. ….and the future stars in the farm system are crushing it. Its finally WINNING baseball season!!

    We got a nice game out of Kep and Gallo last night so the timing of dumping them is perfect as they won’t do shat for another 13 games or so…

    Agreed but its depth that can sit on the bench while Wallner and TL play every day.

    @DocBauer With the extra $2.4M$ given to them in the lottery, they should have plenty to sign those last two highschoolers. They can no doubt go under slot on several picks as well and $500k over budget total. I bet all 20 picks sign and 5 years look back at a great draft.

    Soto is 6’5” and 17 yo. Plenty of clay there to mould….

    His TJ was done in spring of 2021 after 3 starts. He missed all of 2022 and was rehabbing in May /june 2022 predraft. What a bummer!

    I love this pick!!! and the draft as a whole. I have no doubt that Charlee is going to be a great player because he is a good young man. I cant imagine his ceiling is anything less than a dominating SP.

    I love the strategy of swinging for the fences on some hs kids that may have 5 tools. The college pitchers look solid enough to develop so it seems like a huge win. We have a couple $M more pool money than usual and the 4th most in the league. I see no reason to spend over that amount. 10 more picks is where you separate your scouting abilities from other teams. Im confident that 2-3 future major leaguers will be found by our scouting team today.

    I really like this pick! He seems like he is very mature and works hard at improving his game. Get him signed and on the field in Iowa asap.

    Its a nice pick, speed and hit tools. I was thinking more about Carrigg or a college pitcher.
