  1. We should be drafting pitching at 5 and 34. Dollander if he is still there at 5 (Skenes will be gone) and anyone of these guys at 34. We have plenty of position players in the system to cover the turnover rate for the next 3 seasons but we are definitely lacking in topend pitching prospects!
  2. Does the lack of offense (which itself is an issue) actually have to take the blame for a guy that admitted that he lost focus of his job?
  3. If his ops stays over 1.000 for the rest of 2023… who cares how many times he wiffs. But yeah. Be selective young man.
  4. I see buck and C4 more as mentors to the core thats coming soon. Lee, Lewis, Erod and Raya. Throw in Ryan and this years #5 pick and add them to Lopez and Duran and you will have a real deep/long window for multiple playoff runs. We aren’t going to be drafting in the top ten again anytime soon.
  5. Can we DFA Pagan yet and bring up Ober for the long term?
  6. AK is going to get playing time when he is healthy because he has a way higher ceiling than Solano and Gordon…
  7. I agree! I hope for Neto’s sake that the lack of milb development doesn’t mess him up long term. In the same thought light tho, I can see Lee getting the August call up if he is crushing it in AA and we keep sending guys to the IL all summer long. If Erod does the same in Iowa, he will likely be moved up to AA in June or July. As always I worry that Buxton will trip on a blade of grass and end his season early which could then lead to Erod being on the post season roster and since it seems like he lives for the big moments…. He could be given a spot to show off….
  8. Maybe the Yankees have always tried to cheat and are finally getting caught.
  9. The Angels just called up Zach Neto who was drafted 5 spots after Brookes Lee. They say he is up for the long term and have moved former Twin Gio Urshela to first base. I’d prefer that the Twins move a little slower in developing all the youngsters on the above list but I cant help but wonder if at least 3 of them are with the varsity when we make a deep run in the playoffs this October!
  10. So far “ the next man up “ has worked out well but thats only because of the depth that we have. At this attrition rate, all the kids from cedar rapids will be called up in august.
  11. Farmer and Solano were great signings! Castro is meh…. Much like a bologna sandwich… the young guns are going to own this team by September!!!
  12. He had 1 tough inning the other day and gave up a bad dinger but has looked great otherwise. He’s going to be fun to watch for the foreseeable future!!!
  13. The backups options for the BP is a bit slim. Hopefully we don’t need to tap into the Dobnak’s et al.
  14. Polanco on track to be in mpls within 2 weeks would be great. Also need C4 to start hitting after he gets to rest today. Gaaaah. Eyeroll.
  15. I prefer the human element. Mistakes and the bitching and getting tossed out.
  16. No. and then draft a SP @ #5. That gives us CP, Raya and #5 in the system and developing to win in 2025. Thats when we really will have an opportunity to compete for a WS every yr. At this point, we still need more pitching.
  17. Holding the players accountable if they suck would be my first step. Like say Pagan giving up a dinger every time he pitches.
  18. I sure hope ober understands that he is a vital cog in the wheel of the machine. Something is going to get him across the river and he will probably never go back. The rotation is the real winner on this team. All potential #2 and#3 SP make this a staff with great potential!!
  19. Gray is spot on. The 2023 rotation as well as the next man up situation across the river is night and day better than last year. No one has to be a Nolan Ryan but for g-sakes, pitch 6+ innings. Its your j.o.b.
  20. Id take him over any other of the possible options. He needs to stay on the varsity team. Good chance he will be the lights out Jovani as he continues to develop his craft.
  21. He does have a career era of 3.87 in mlb and probably better when he was in japan. He went 5 innings today with 2 earned runs so maybe he can put the surgery behind him and have a 2020 type season (2.40 era)
  22. Deleon would be exciting to watch!!! I’d lean towards guys on the 40man first. Sands, Henriquez and Maeda if he cant get back to pitching 6-7 innings without giving up more than 2-3 runs.
  23. I am right there with ya. Winning is going to be contagious this year. Depth is good up and down the roster and across the river.
