  1. Good health the rest of the way and recovery from Correa and particularly Lewis would make the Twins very dangerous in the postseason. I know he's going to slump and strike out a lot, but I've come around a long way on Matt Wallner. The Twins have a deep roster where not one position player deserved to be an All-Star, but their 13th and 14th guys are good major league players. I like the way the bullpen looks and it could be better than good depending on how Paddack, Stewart and Maeda come back and adjust to their roles. Bailey Ober looks like the odd man out for the first round and his stuff looked outstanding today.
  2. It will cap off a really good day if Stewart has a good inning.
  3. Thanks. My son lives in Austin and you can find a lot of barbecue, but not many cowboy hats.
  4. Give him another appearance or two. The stuff looks pretty good.
  5. Command seems to have slipped away from Paddack. BTW, what is the story with the nickname “the Sheriff”?
  6. The role for him, like Varland and Maeda, in the postseason would be multi-inning reliever.
  7. The kid on the mound for Oakland/Las Vegas is going to be good.
  8. Vázquez—somebody has to make outs.
  9. Yeah, I’m a Twins fan and you always think your club has a chance, but if Lewis and Correa are healthy, look out American League.
  10. Didn’t go quite as far, but still counts.
  11. I've seen a couple of players go less than full speed (Solano and Julien on the bases, Polanco running to first) and I don't have a problem with that.
  12. Pretty quick turn to get Ruiz on a GDP.
  13. If Ober is the fifth starter (by a lot), then the Twins have a pretty great rotation.
  14. I do want to point out that I posted the above before the grand salami.
  15. The way guys are swinging right now, I think Wallner should be hitting before Kirilloff.
  16. Willi and Farmer should be available in the postseason, for sure. Not so sure on Lewis, but Solano won't be seeing third base.
  17. They added Stewart back on both the active roster and 40-man.
  18. Stewart activated, Floro DFA .https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/09/twins-to-activate-brock-stewart-designate-dylan-floro-for-assignment.html
  19. No Willi Castro yet. I'm starting to get concerned about his health.
  20. Unless that player had 15 homers and 52 RBI in 58 games.
  21. Missing out on the first round, I have Sands, Winder and Headrick--all three technically are at St. Paul. Floro is just too hittable, as is Keuchel. Alcalá hasn't been that good when on the major league team and is just now completing rehab, and Funderburk is my last cut. The ERA looks good and other numbers are fine, but he has struggled to retire the first batter he's faced in his outings, which could loom large on the big stage of the playoffs.
  22. The way I see it for Round 1 of the postseason: Three starters--López, Gray and Ryan. Three starters as middle relief-piggyback options--Paddack, Varland, Maeda. Five late relievers--Stewart, Thielbar, Pagán, Jax and Duran. If the Twins win the first round in two games, Ryan starts the next series, otherwise it is Bailey Ober.
  23. Kyle Gibson, one of my favorite ex-Twins.
  24. Polanco got the out and they weren’t going to turn two. Larnach threw toward third, but the runner didn’t take second. The following double off the top of his glove scored two runs, including the guy on first.
