  1. CLE is a good team. Great overall pitching & defense. IMO the Ramirez HR didn't cost us it was the Fry HR. That HR shouldn't have happened if Jeffers hadn't made that errant throw to 2B after 2B was stolen. No one was backing up 2B & was slow to get to it. That advanced the runner with only 1 out & forced SWR out of game in favor of (LHP) Okert to pitch to (LH) Naylor. Okert got Naylor out but Okert was obligated to pitch to Fry which cost us 2 runs.
  2. That was my impression when we got him. He definitely shouldn't be trusted with a close game.
  3. CLE is playing good D , turning a lot of pitcher friendly double plays.
  4. I wasn't very impressed w/ Sands last year but like what you said he improved his pitches. IMO Sands degression is the result of the Twins don't know what to do with him. This year he was impressive so they bumped him up to higher leverage. As of now he hasn't shown that he can handle that level. Keep him at long mid-leverage relief, if he has options he'd be very valuable. Balazovik hasn't shown yet that he can pitch anywhere in MLB.
  5. NYY pinstripes have a tradition that really affects MN. MN pinstripes has a tradition that needs to be stressed & put into play.
  6. NYY series is sad but we have CLE ahead of us. Time to suck it up!
  7. Terrible start. Let's see how much fight that's in the Twins.
  8. IMO fans were expecting info on Lee & Jenkins. Yeah will be great to have Buxton back since he was starting to heat things up before he went on the IL. But we really miss Lewis, almost as much as he misses playing. 25% tear on the patella sounds serious, I wonder how much he can still contribute this season maybe better to opt for the surgery. I agree not to rush Steward best to have him 100% & stay healthy than going back to the IL shortly & develop into something more serious after returning if rushed.
  9. IMO we'd be better off staying pat than spending on new acquisitions (that contributed little to none) because we had better options in-house. The only position we really needed was a top SP that we could pick up at the deadline.
  10. Thank you Jamie for putting this out there & starting with catching because I'm passionate about this position. I'm passionate about it because I see a great need there in the system. To get a half-decent catcher would be expensive so drafting through player evaluation & development is the best route. Because the need is so prevalent now I prefer focusing on college prospects. I was excited about so many high-ranking catching prospects this year. But I believe '23 Teel & Carrigg were better candidates than any in this group. Still it's a pretty good group. The candidates that I like to focus on are those that are college, have good defense (athletic & strong arm) & can hit. LH or switch-hitting is a premium. I like Lomovita but he'll probably go before we get a chance at him & he bats RH. I like LH batting prospects Moore & Covart the best.
  11. Julien can't forget who he is or where he came from (I think that it influences how he wears his cap). Nor should he, yet he's good enough-natured to take the ribbing. Very amusing piece. Aye.
  12. NYY are beatable, besides BAL- TOR & OAK took their series. Even w/o Lewis we can beat these 2 teams. The problem IMO is that the Twins admire the NYY. So much so that they have copied their hitting approach. This hitting approach has it's flaws & the NYY had been floundering. Appears they are trying to change but w/o Soto carrring them they wouldn't be that great. We have edged them out in HRs & beat them at their own game in the recent past but that's not the key. NYY believe they own us & with some effort they'll come out on top. Instead of getting psyched up against them, they get psyched out & make a lot of mistakes & when they fall behind they give up. We have lost a couple of keys guys that weren't influenced this psyche. Lewis is the type of guy that can turn things around, until then we'll end losing to teams like NYY.
  13. Workload management has been one of our biggest problem. At the end of every year we limp into the postseason (if even we make it there,) & bomb, contributing to the longest postseason losing streak. With fans complaining of rotten luck with the injuries & poor performance. Luck has very little to do with it, it's poor workload management. Last season except for the year prior holdovers, we had relatively few & minor injuries it's because of the better workload management. With the rotation, BP, battery & lineup fairly healthy & refreshed we were able to break that ugly record. IMO most everywhere is pretty well managed but my main concern is Paddack, SWR & our high-leverage BP. that they are properly managed & available to pitch quality innings when needed.
  14. IMO Alcala should be used better. IMO Varland & Alcala up in the pen on a steady basis makes us a better team. RPs that have options are worth keeping around but for those who do not, have to be dependable otherwise traded or DFAed, Balazovik has no room for error. IMO Canterino needs to start out in the pen, with his stuff should rise to MLB quickly once healthy.
  15. 😉 Normal ramping up after extended time on the IL start in the lower level MiLB (which Larnach did) & then work them up through the levels (which Larnach didn't). Because of his problem with breaking balls, I felt that he needed that time. But as I stated before I was pleasantly surprised.
