Minnesota Twins Roster Project and Organizational Depth
Brandon replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think this is the starting point. The Twins have 4 top hitting prospects likely to debut next season. Jenkins, Gonzales, Culpepper, and E Rod. Players will get hurt, traded, demoted or released.- 81 replies

Minnesota Twins Roster Project and Organizational Depth
Brandon replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
C Jeffers 1B Bell 2B Keaschal SS Lee 3B Lewis LF Larnarch CF Buxton RF Wallner DH Clemens C Jackson IF Fitzgerald or Krieger or Julien (2 out of 3) OF Martin (Outman or Rhoden could make is so only 1 of 3 above make it to the initial roster) All starters in this lineup could hit 15 + HRs this year. some are 25+ so the lineup has the power needed the question will be if they can get on base enough for those HRs to not be solo shots. The bench is not very deep however. but the minors are so we have reinforcements if there is an injury. I hope they do not wait too long to disable those who get hurt this year as the minors will have better hitters then the bench will.- 81 replies

That was my thought. No actual fan would put Cruz over hometown World Series game 7 hero. Or Pags for that matter since he helped us win the World Series.. why isn't Pags on the list? The injustice! I do think Cruz is one of the Twins best signings though.

Wait another 10+ years to find out. Tiat looks to be the type of player the Twins could sign to an 8/9 year contract when he comes up.

The trade for him did that. I'm not sure resigning him is a top 10. I guess the author isn't counting minor league free agents.

The Twins really like the Young family. He had a brother I think that played in the majors they tried to sign in free agency and the SS prospect we currently have who is related to Delmon as well. Trade trees are fun. And starting with how we got the initial player is important too. That would be cool to see a waiver wire/ rule 5/ or minor league free agent turn into 100 WAR by being the beginning of a long trade tree after supplying years of surplus value.

5 Ways to Remember the Twins’ 2025 Farm System
Brandon replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
The good news is we have volume of prospects. More prospects equals more opportunity to hit gold with prospect development. If we have 25 good to great prospects ànd we get 8 regulars whether in rotation, pen, lineup or bench and an all star, that's a good place to start for team development. We probably need to do a little better than that but not much. So let's get more prospects to improve the odds of success.- 28 replies

Should the Twins Deal from Their Rotation Depth?
Brandon replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
No we shouldn't be trading starting pitching or starting pitching prospects while we are a transition team. Some will get hurt, others will move to the pen, and the rest, I think our excess pitching will be more valuable once we decide who stays in the rotation and bullpen and who we can trade and what do we need. -
Should the Twins Deal from Their Rotation Depth?
Brandon replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
No, This is a transition team and many of the starters from the minors will end up in the bullpen becoming key bullpen pieces. I think we need to get to where we have fewer needs as a team and then trade or sign free agents to bolster the last remaining weak points to make this a highly competitive team. -
I agree with the first paragraph. But you need veterans around who can show the rookies the ropes. This is a team in transition. I think they are building for 2027. As this article has stated the Twins have too many holes at this time. But they do have lots of young talent ready to transition to the majors. Throughout next season expect many rookies to make their debuts as players go up and down. I think 2026 is to see what the Twins have and develop as many players as possible to have as many holes in the 2027 roster solidified so next offseason the Twins can take another step forward.

Should the Twins Extend one of Their Key Young Players?
Brandon replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I could see a 3-4 year extension for Wall er but not with the three OF prospects in AAA Lewis can be extended but on a more team friendly deal with incentives would be fine. Cole Sands on a three year extension with an option year or two so the Twins can choose to buy out a year or two of free agency. Keaschal is interesting you are looking at either a short term deal of three years for security for the player or a long term deal. Depends on the cost. I would rather extend Jeffers and Ryan though Jenkins would be interesting on an 8 year deal- 25 replies

The Twins won a world series with a 3B platoon and a LF lead off hitter with less than .320 OBP It's about outscoring the competition on a daily basis. Bell adds depth to the lineup. He is a #6 type hitter. For 7 million in FA his bat is solid. Way better than the 5 million the Royals are paying Lane Thomas next season. That guy hit under .200.
-
I would think if Bell hits 20-25 HRs and 70-80 RBIs he will justify his 7 million salary easily. I feel like he can easily do this. The question is can the Twins get his defense close to average so he can be worth 1-2 WAR on the season.

I don't get all the negativity, Lowe is maybe 30 OPS points better than Bell and better defender. How much more value is that? What else could the Twins do? It's a one year contract. If you're not happy then focus on the prospect we can get for him at the trade deadline. Based on that article of 15 options at 1B, Bell is in the top 3. He is basically Cuddyer with a lower average.
-
Bell is a Boras client and Jeffers is a Boras client and we need a Jeffers extension. I'm sure it helps having a good working relationship with Boras, now let's get him locked up. Bell and Nathaniel Lowe were my two favorites. Now we can focus on pen. Or a backup SS. Who are the top reliever targets?
-
I would define a power hitter by their average in hitting extra base hits. A .100 average is a solid power hitter that’s 50 extra base hits in 500 ABs. A .110-.120 is all star level and above .120 is elite.

They traded for a C prospect that they didn't have to worry about losing if he didn't stay on the roster.

He can hit 105 + OPS which is better than one one they have there now and his costs is minimal so they can afford to go after another OF. I just checked and the Royals have the equivalent of 7 slightly better Topa”s in their pen we could trade for one. They probably cost in their pen 1-3 million range so we save a few bucks with the trade. It’s win/ win. we change OF too . Martin and McCusker and Outman or Rhoden….. I think we have trade options…. Fedko … Gonzales (though I want more if we trade a legit prospect).
