I just put Festa there cause I keep reading he is going there. I do think we have a higher floor with this group. It's not as good as last Year's pen but good enough for an above .500 team and it will be a pen in transition as younger players earn extend d looks and injuries and veterans who make initial roster underperforming..... Overall the team has talent and a wide variety of potential outcomes.
  2. Next year we could have Jackson to platoon with Cartini then Tait should be ready. or we could sign Jeffers to an extension.
  3. I thought we traded with the Orioles for Jackson not the Nationals. I like what the Twins did at C this off-season. I actually think the front office did a great job with the limited budget they have.. this is a transition year as there are 4 offensive position players on their way up and a bunch of pitching prospects too. This will be a quick rebuild. The question is can the Twins compete with their team as currently constructed. I see a .500 team. I would feel better if Lopez were healthy.
  4. I have the bench including Clemens, Arcia and Martin. The last spot is up for grabs. With Cartini able to play 1B and DH they could keep Jackson for C. Though I think they will want someone who can play multiple position and contribute offensively. I have in order of my probability of being the last man Ursula, Rhoden, Wageman. And the funnest question this spring is who will be the sire.of. Spring training?
  5. The bullpen has a nice floor now. It's now one that won't blow every game that's close. Should be a 7-10 ranked pen in the AL. And we have young guys capable of coming up throughout the year and getting experience and opportunities to win a spot. That's exactly what I wanted for this year.I mean I would have preferred the Twins go all in and sign Diaz and Chapman but within the reality of who the Twins are, they did what I hoped for. And they did enough for me to pay to go watch them.
  6. We need to trade everyone with a pulse. If you have spent 1 day in the majors, you have so much experience that we should trade you for a AA prospect. We need to get so young that all our top prospects are in Low A ball or lower. Let's break is down to the studs. Jenkins is too high at AAA. He is knocking on the door to the majors. We need to trade him and get younger too. In fact TC Bear is past his Prime and needs to go. If this sounds ridiculous to you and it should. So should trading Ryan now because of an injury.
  7. I still support signing another starter. You can never have too much pitching.
  8. Hopefully that opened spot goes to Giolito or Littel or Scherzer.
  9. I like his signing a lot. He is as good of a get as Taylor Rogers. Maybe even slightly better since it's a minor league signing and doesn't take a roster spot. His control seems a little iffy at worst
  10. This is a good opportunity to see if Tom really wants to compete this year. He can pivot and sign Giolito to a 1 or 2 year deal.. make it happen.
  11. This signing is further evidence the Twins are trying to trade Larnarch within the division. Probably the Royals. Look at that OF! Now they have pre-nuetralized him before the trade which kinda tips their hand. But now knowing how Larnarch hits against lefty relievers they are now free to trade intradivisionally away. Stay tuned ...
  12. Larnarch would be a massive improvement for Kansas City's OF... likely RF. So much so that I bet they would trade a reliever for him. With the money saved and insurance money from Lopez the Twins should be able to afford Giolito for the rotation. If not they might as well lower payroll some more....no one is going to their games.
  13. We have good pitching prospects ready to go. If we don't sign someone like Scherzer, Littel or Giolito then we know who the real Tom Pohlad is and we don't have to give him more chances and we might as well go with the young guys. There is no in between in this situation because we need top talent to replace the top talent and if we don't have it then we need to go with youth.
  14. Especially wasted on day 1. Sign Giolito or Scherzer or Litell and let's go! .....
  15. **** Well let's see how serious Tom Pohlads is about competing. Let's go sign Giolito to a 1 year or 2 year deal ...
  16. In the paragraph above he mentions testing pitches and swings and reactions plus the two Lee notes and that's 5 I guess.
  17. I think the Pohlads do the best with what they have. They took losses for COVID. They did spend money on the payroll. The timing of their scale back was upsetting and I do not give them a pass for that. But looking forward. 2026 is a transition team. We could be competitive or we could swap out 3 OFs and a SS from the minors. We could develop another starter who succeeds or trade Ryan and Lopez for top prospects. Our pen could be slightly above average or torn down further with failed starters getting opportunities out of the pen. I'm optimistic for the season and either way it will be fun because of the solid replacement options ready to contribute should we start cycling more players through to the majors.

I figured with spring training starting and all of the pitcher signings, someone should list all of our potential bullpen candidates going into spring training and lets see how we think the pen will do. One thing I can say is we definitely have options and depth for this season. Which relievers do you see making an impact for the club this year? And who would you take north at this point? Twins Bullpen 2026 Rogers Sands Topa Funderburk Orze Banda Festa Hendricks Top Prospects Preilipp Klein Adams Raya Matt Canterino Cory Lewis Minor League signings for former major leaguers Merryweather Matt Bowman Dan Altavilla Grant Hartwig Eduardo Salazar Starters to the pen options Matthews Bradley Abel Rojas Morris Minor League in the minor’s signings Matt Bash Trent Baker Christian MacLeod Raul Brito In Limbo Jackson Kowar
  20. We added quite a few relievers lately. Does anyone know the pecking order going in to spring training? Anyone going to make a march reliever madness bracket to see who will be the top 8 relievers going north with the Twins on opening day from the 30+ options in camp, and which 1 will go all the way to team closer.......
  21. I'm happy with this move. He will be a solid reliever for us and give us another reliever we can count on.now we can focus on developing our relievers and bringing them up one at a time. We can still sign Kopech or trade Larnarch for a good reliever. But now the need is not so dire.
  22. And the Twins just signed another pitcher to a minor league deal. Merryweather to a minor league deal with spring invite. He pitched for Cubs last three seasons with various results.
  23. Except we were actually saying here that they should try him in the pen first. No one thought he would be as good as he was but everyone liked him and there was belief he could get through a lineup once My thoughts is that he is now plenty of time removed from injuries and this is when he should take steps forward.... He is also 37 this year. I am hoping for a solid season out of him. If the Twins sign someone like Kopech to finish off the off-season. I can live with the moves. And I hope enough of them work out
