  1. The only battle is the battle between your ears. Ego plays a lot in club culture and the battles that play out in between the ears. When Correa went down, we had too many team players start losing their battles between their ears in baseball games and the losing began. So the injury to Correa isn’t what torpedoed the team it’s how the team battled with that news after the fact. Too many battles lost between their ears. Baseball is a slow moving game with lots of time to overthink. Change how those battles go and change the outcomes of the games. Lewis began to overthink after saying he never slumps and overthought his way into a slump immediately. ….
  2. I bought season tickets in Chpetit19 honor and the sales rep tried to talk me out of it. He recommended other places to spend my money.💰 places not owned by the Pohlads.
  3. No. There is a stadium lease. And I bet the new minority owners have a big minority stake like 30-40% stake to lessen the risk for the Pohlads while keeping them in control. The Pohlads can use the minority take sales to pay down the team debt to give the team a fresh start. But the minority owners probably will want to keep payroll in line too. Also I wonder if one of the minority owners isn’t Mauer…
  4. I will give the Pohlads this. They have been even handed as owners but I think the losses from COVID and the media contract situation has them losing a lot the last 5 years hence the desire to sell and stuff. Not giving them a pass for the trade deadline BS but a little understanding.
  5. This leadership group got us a playoff series win and everything since, I pin on the owners and some bad performances. During the winter the front office makes good moves that I usually agree with. Last offseason we signed a few good bench players that were everyday players leaving no one good on the bench which hurt. The Twins of recent depend on rotating their bench players in often so a 100-110 OPS+ is a good thing to have off the bench. We don’t have that this season. Lewis and Correa not hitting like we hoped either. We were one good hitter short otherwise and Falvey was given scraps. He did good with what he had. Coloumbe, Bader and I guess France. Kody Clemens has been a good pickup. I don’t see how you can blame the front office after they were ordered to cut payroll after being told they were out planning on going to 180 million in payroll. I’m sure they wouldn’t have signed Correa if they knew what was going to happen to payroll.
  6. Festa, Abel, and Taj could end up in the mix too I suppose. Plus some of those trying out now could be kept as well. And don’t forget about the inexpensive castoff/ reclamation project either.
  7. I love it when we 👍 agree!
  8. I will feel better if no one goes to a game the rest of the season. I was pro Pohlads until this sell off. They went too far in tearing down. They can’t get gone fast enough. After the rant, if they can find some relievers to rely on for 2026 and beyond. Bring Prelipp up for a few innings. The Twins were just short on hitting, Keaschal seems to be that hitter. Lewis is hitting better too. The Twins could have gone on a run with patience. At least we have lots of starting Pitchers and OFs, bring up ERod and send Jenkins to AAA already
  9. That Brian Dozier trade turned out better than expected. Smeltzer was a useful 14th pitcher on a 13 man staff, Forsythe held down 2nd the rest of the year and Raley did some stuff just not for us. Dozier didn’t do much after getting traded.
  10. While I know the Correa trade was a salary dump we should be paying less of his contract maybe 20-25 million with atleast their # 25 prospect or a good lotto player. In that 22-30 range. Houston could still add that guy in the trade to show salary dump returns. Stewart trade was wasted opportunity. So was Jax trade. Still puzzled on Varland trade.
  11. I haven't seen this! can you post source?
  12. II just saw that Ty France has the all-time record for highest fielding percentage for 1B with a .998 career mark at 1B. Ty France Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More | Baseball-Reference.com
  13. Trade trees are fun. Even the ugly ones. If Tait pans out and plays 10 years and gets traded this tree could go on for many years tormenting Giants fans along the way with what could have been,
  14. The Twins need another hitter to make a run. Paddack and Ober are up and down. Lopez is coming back soon I think. I haven’t followed the team as much as I would like this season but they may as well go for it. They aren’t going to get much talent at the trade deadline so may as well win.
  15. If we are talking 20/20 seasons then Bader has a shot. He needs to get his steals up which he should be able to do and he needs to get those 9 HRs which might be the harder part for him.
  16. 35/35 is a real possibility if healthy but that is not as cool as the round numbers.
  17. Buxton has 20 HRs and 17 SB can he turn it up a little and be a 40/40 guy?
  18. RBIs aren’t a predictable stat or even a gauge stat. But they are likely the 2nd most important stat behind runs. You have to score to win.
  19. Who are the other 1B options that we had with the resources available? That tells you if this is a good signing. Odds are it was the best move available. If he knocks 80-90 RBIs that’s what matters most I guess the other numbers predict how likely that is to continue. So far the 35 RBIs suggest his signing for a million is a great value. His clutch numbers do too. He is not someone you want up to start the rally however. And for his numbers outside of RBI to be presentable, he needs to keep his average over .270. If his power numbers pick up and he ends the season with 550 AB and 30-35 2Bs and 12 -15 HRs with his average over .270 he may get resigned to stay another year. Unless Cleveland pays him 12 million to replace Santana next year….
  20. Alcala this season: 5 games with 3 IP and 14 Earned Runs. Also Alcala 15 games 19.2 innings and 2 Earned Runs.
  21. Alcala has clean sheets 70% of the time which is really good. Just on the other 30% he uses too many sheet for all that 💩 poop he slings.
