  1. He can play, but man, I strongly dislike Correa.
  2. I guess I'd rather have Boyd than Pineda. At least he'll stay healthy and won't get suspended. Rockies price for Marquez is super high, so I don't think he gets moved, at least not for the deal you have above. I'm expecting 2 major moves, and maybe 2 minor moves remaining.
  3. You're definitely selling Gray short. He was a 3.3 WAR pitcher last year, which was actually higher than Berrios. He might not be better than Berrios, but he's closer to Berrios than a #3. But I agree with the rest.
  4. I think it makes Arraez expendable because Urshela is a way better defender than LA. Arraez isn't a good defender anywhere, Urshela is elite at 3b and can even play short. Who will hit better in '23 is probably up for debate, though obviously Arraez is cheaper.
  5. I think it's because Lewis has the ability to stick at short, whereas Martin profiles more as a Centerfielder, 2b or corner OF with limited pop and high obp skills who steals bases. Both are valuable, but Lewis' ceiling is much, much higher.
  6. I'd rather give up prospect capital to land Montas instead of Chapman. I don't think the A's want Urshela and they might not want Lewis either.
  7. Words on Story's home/road splits: https://lastwordonsports.com/baseball/2022/02/07/does-the-coors-field/
  8. Has anyone evaluated what banning sticky substances did to Gray's spin rates?
  9. Affects every CO player. This has been studied for years now and it's not because Coors inflates hitting stats, it's because it's hard to adjust from hitting at altitude to not hitting at altitude. Sliders and curveballs break differently. Fastballs rise differently. Additionally, it's hard to go back from sleeping at altitude to sleeping at sea level.
  10. None of those guys are a decent major league shortstop though. Bigger hole at SS than 3b currently.
  11. I'm thrilled another team was willing to take Donaldson, pay ALL his salary, and still give something in return. Granted, we gave up Rordvedt, but Urshela has 2 years of cheap team control remaining, and play a good 2nd or 3rd. Sanchez is kinda intriguing but mostly the Yankees wanted to get rid of him and I ultimately think a team other than the Twins takes on the Sanchez reclamation project.
  12. Twins likely aren't done adding to the rotation. But if they aren't, we still need a good defensive infield to backup those young starters. Story's defense is elite and will improve the pitching just by him playing SS.
  13. I don't think that happens unless the team is very, very bad. So I am hoping that doesn't happen. I don't think Martin ever plays SS in the big leagues. Lewis needs to show he can hit at AAA first.
  14. Not sure if Twins want Chapman, but Oakland has 2-3 pitchers still available that the Twins should be interested in for sure.
  15. I really like the trade. Seems overwhelmingly positive. Gray is a stud, you get him for two years at a very affordable price for a high school pitcher who was years away and has a high likelihood of not contributing at the MLB level ever.
  16. It was primarily a salary dump, so it makes sense. I can't see why they'd keep Sanchez though.
  17. This would be electrifying. I think Story makes the team better. Urshela, Story, Polanco is a solid defensive infield. Even with losing Donaldson.
  18. Well, Andrelton Simmons, Trevor Story, Jonathan Villar, Freddy Galvis, perhaps even Jose Iglesias and Niko Goodrum too. Twins also could've signed Baez or Chris Taylor. How many of these are options now? I think just Story, Villar, Iglesias, Galvis?
  19. There's like 5 guys who are going to give you what Kiner Falefa would give you this year, and they just cost money, not one of your best bats. I hate this. Makes the team worse overall.
  20. Makes the team worse overall. Why not just sign Simmons again and keep Garver or trade Garver for pitching?!
  21. You might be right, but that's what any GM has to say publicly so other teams don't view them as desperate.
  22. Well, bummer. 22m per is a lot though.
  23. Unbelievable. Instead of making the games more available, let's make fans have to subscribe to another streaming service to have to watch their own team's games! Brilliant! Guess I'll just watch the highlights the next day on youtube if the Twins win.
