  1. Intangible sounds like a word you use when you didn't have the money in the off-season to sign talent ..
  2. AND HE;S A RIGHT HANDED BATTER 🙃
  3. Kudos to our draft department. Without the ninth, thirteenth, and twentieth picks hitting we wouldn't have a pitching pipeline ..
  4. Maybe the Twins are getting ready to extend some young players, which takes money.
  5. I wonder why he has never pitched more than 20 innings in the bigs. He had good numbers when he pitched. He has an injury history and no options to be sent up and down without going through waivers. Based on his past he may not make it to July ...
  6. Let's sit back and see how Kepler performs this year before discussing extending his contract. Last year was a tale of two cities. Let's see which one shoes up this year. I have always liked Kepler and felt he had a great swing and incredable defense so I'm rooting for him but he needs to drop the Jeckle and Hyde act and put together solid season from beginning to end.
  7. Every team wants a playoff ace, and they are few and far between, not to mention more than we can afford to pay right now.. I'm afraid our best option is to draft and develop one and have him around until we can't afford him. But every team is trying to do that as well. It's like chasing unicorns..
  8. I would probably go with Taylor, as I have little confidence Buxton will log major innings in centerfield. Taylor's defense is superb, whether in center or the corners, and he is a right-handed hitter with some pop. My wish then would be for Buxton to prove me wrong and Taylor not to log many innings over the course of the year. The big plus is that he would make an excellent pinch runner in the late innings.. and he's a known commodity in the dugout. I believe the other players like him alot.
  9. DeS-clafini (sorry the only way I can remember his name) isn't going to make it far before getting hurt. I think the Twins probably assume this and took him in the trade for two reasons: 1) Seattle paid us to take him off their backs and 2} They wanted him to hold down the last spot thru May to give Varland a chance to lock in his skills at AAA and then hope Feasta can provide some depth by July ..
  10. Is this a good move? Time will tell, but I like it much better than Gallo last year and better than resigning Salono ..
  11. Krilloff has 640 plate appearances, and Larnach has 603 in the majors. Yes, they both have had injury issues, but that's a big part of today's game. My guess is due to weight training, but that's just a guess. It wasn't this way in the sixties and seventies. As a result, teams need to have more depth, and I believe we do. Let's let these guys at least get 1,000 at-bats in the bigs, if not the customary 1,500 before we bail on them. Neither has been able to settle in due to injuries, and there is nothing that says either one will miss much time this year, as injuries are unpredictable. Unless your name is Bryon of course ..
  12. Holy Guacamole!!! Did you see that injury history. If he was a horse he'd be ready for the glue factory ..
  13. I'm guessing he will start and play most of the year in Cedar Rapids ..
  14. It will be interesting following both Topa and Pagan who was also a late bloomer over the course of this year ..
  15. I agree it's a trade for a top 100 MLB talent. That's only because he's a right-handed hitter. Otherwise, we have plenty of outfield talent. But adding another Gallo to our starting lineup of pitching takes away from the trade for me. My fear is he will stink up the joint but management will be too headstrong to cut him ala Gallo.
  16. Agree Doc. I don't like adding another retread starting pitcher. Especially when he cost 11.9 mill. I thought the idea was to get rid of payroll. I'm fine with Gonzales because he's a right handed back and like the extra bullpen addition. Just don't like the SEC&#<*@&< dude. Would have rather got another quality minor league player and pocketed the 11.9 mill. I guess maybe less if they through in money. Feels a lot like taking on Gallo. A guy that will underperformed but management won't cut him even if he stinks up the joint.
  17. I'm fine with Cedar Rapids for two-thirds of the season. A taste of AA at the end of the year. Begin 2025 at AA and, when ready, move him up to AAA, maybe just before mid-season. If he can hit AAA ball, bring him up in September 2025. That's still lightning quick. Even 2026 debut is fine ..
  18. Seeing those names ruined the taste of my coffee which doesn't mix well with barf .
