Who Will Be The Minnesota Twins' Closer in 2026?
twinsfansd replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
There will be a lot of DFA'd players and minor league free agents to come yet in the offseason. Someone may just need a chance. I expect the Twins to give several a chance.- 64 replies

What I want to know is why was Gasper dancing around on the baseline before that catch was made. He should have been standing on 3rd base no matter if the ball was caught or not. He was going to tag up if caught, or walk to home plate if it wasn't. Where was the third base coach during all of this? And besides that, Austin Martin was taking his queues from what Gasper was doing at 3B. He totally was confused by all of that. And again, the third base coaches job is to direct the guy at second base. Once again, our third base coach proves inept, as he has since he has been there. He needs to go. That whole b otched up play was his fault.

A Rule 5 player must first be run through waiver before they would be able to work out a trade with the original club, the Phillies. So the chances of a player like Castellanos clearing waivers are probably slim. So the Twins will most likely either have to keep him on the roster, or let him go.

So, what would be wromg about putting Martin in left and Bader in right on those occasions? Or Martin in left, Bader in center and Buxton in RF. Or maybe in Target Field play Buxton in LF, Martin in CF, and Bader in RF. Might be your best defense.

They certainly need a new 3rd base coach. My God, how many runners got cut down at the plate by a country mile the last couple years. Not to mention the runners that were held at third when they could have scored. Seemed to me like he had no idea when to send them. Also, they lost a ton of runners between 2nd and 3rd on throws that were cut off from the outfield, or the catcher gunned them down after taking the throw. He didn't seem to have any sense fir when those runners were able to advance. And my biggest pet peave was all the times runners should have been in position to tag up at 2nd base on long fly ball out, and didn't. That is shameful All lost runs. But the Twins baserunning as a whole was horrendous. Whoever their baserunning coach is shiuld also be fired. And while I'm at ut, whoever their infield coach is needs to go, too. Their fielding was disgustingly bad.

Rosario and De Andrade are Rule 5 eligible, so they are making final preparations for the 40-man roster.

I don't think anybody will be leaving until after Royce comes back at least. And why deplenish the supply of bullpen arms. Keep as many as possible and mix and match as injuries and performance call for.

I think there will need to be options to give the bullpen some length. Paddock for sure, and possibly Varland will need to have innings limited, so will need to have guys piggy back with them at times. I think this will need to be several guys with options available to move back and forth to St. Paul. Winder, Sands, SWR, Canterino, Headrick.

I don't think the Twins will ever move Lewis to 2B. Why would you put a guy that has had 2 knee surgeries on 2B and need to make a pivot. I think that would be asking for trouble.

What new pitchers other than Lopez? Unless you mean some of the minor league free agents that blossomed this year. And Pagan has improved under him, Varland improved, Ober became somewhat of a star, Ryan was quite good early but fell back to old habits. Mid season collapses by Duran and Jax got corrected in time for the playoffs. He also got something worthwhile out of Keuchel.

Just want to point out how the pool system works. if a pick is made and that player is not signed, that money assigned to that pick slot is lost. So the only way the team would have 1,500,000 to spend because a player didn't sign would be because they had planned to go 1,500,000 over slot to sign that player to start with.

The responsibility for this mess falls on Falvey. Either he owns up to the mistake of Baldelli/Popkins running this team or he should be the one to go. And I might add that the o ly reason Popkins is still there is because Correa loves him. And look at what he has done to him. And what he let him do to Miranda.

Week in Review: Momentum Killers
twinsfansd replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not only is this team not very good, they are pretty much unwatchable. It is just unbearable to watch batter after batter strike out. And the pitches taken for strikes is unfathomable. I don't think I have ever seen a team take so many pitches for strikes. Totally maddening.- 54 replies

I think Buxton did the same thing last time, came back without a rehab and stunk the place up. In fact, has he ever gone on a rehab?- 54 replies

Week in Review: Momentum Killers

I am sick and tired of treating all these big baby super stars as if they call all the shots. Buxton should have gone on a rehab assigment instead of insisting he can just step in and play. His awful play is dragging the team down all because of his selfishness. Enough already.- 54 replies

I see him swing through way too many fastballs. That really needs to be corrected. -
All I have to say is if the players go into the season with this attitude, the season is over before it starts. What a poor attitude to take into a season.

Who Could Still Make the 40 Man Roster?
twinsfansd replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If you put Enlow on the major league 60 Day IL, he will be considered on the active roster and will receive service time and major league pay. I don't see the Twins doing that.- 63 replies
