  1. It has been said AND DONE over and over, "You get what you pay for". If anyone would have payed attention to the past regime of Terry Ryan and his annual dumpster diving they wouldn't STILL be doing it. What did they really expect with Happ and Shoemaker? Two miracles? Yes, Pitching should be a priority for next year. Finding an offense that can score by a means other than HomeRuns would be good too. When you can't Pitch and can't Hit, you get what you got right now. I'm not sold on Berrios. For the right return, I'd trade him.
  2. Yippee! A winning streak, albeit a small one mainly against one of the poorest teams in MLB. The lineup managed to score 4 runs on 14 hits and 2 walks going 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position. It just boggles the mind how inept this team is when they get runners on base. Are we are suppose to celebrate the return of one of the most over-rated players in Twins history called Max Kepler? Don't understand the love for a guy who can't hit. Will be glad when both him and Sano are gone. They just make for 2 massive holes in the lineup. Both Larnach and Kirilloff in their 1st seasons are playing/hitting better than those 2. How about putting Gordon in RF with Kirilloff at 1st and put Max on the bench with Sano so they can watch players better than them play?
  3. It's not rocket science or brain surgery. If it's under $25M per year you got to sign him. If he wants more than that then you've got to let him walk or at least try to trade before he walks.
  4. Can we all just laugh at this team and say, see ya next year..... HA! HA! HA! Makes ya wonder what we have to look forward to next year if wholesale changes aren't made. HA! HA! HA! Can we have more dumpster diving with the likes of Happ and Shoemaker, HA! HA! HA! Sign Crap, Expect Crap! HA! HA! HA!
  5. You don't have to worry about seeing him very often unless you run the rehab unit.
  6. It's is hard to imagine 3 minor league prospects pitching worse in the big leagues than Shoemaker, Colome and Dobnak. It is way past time for the FO to show some guts and release these 3 worthless clowns and give some youngsters a chance to play where they are needed. The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over and expecting different results. Falvine......... how insane are you?
  7. Rocco creates a lot of his own bullpen problems. It starts by not letting his Starters go long enough, especially when they are pitching well. There was no reason to pull Ober after 5 innings when he was only at 75 pitches. No reason NOT to trot him out there for the 6th inning and try to get at least 1 more inning out of him. Also no reason NOT to use Rogers for more then 3 pitches. Also no reason to move Shoemaker to the bullpen where he can now lose games in the late innings instead of the early innings. Twins already have Colome and Duffey that can do that, no need for another one. If Robles wasn't available to pitch in the 9th then why was he warming up? Why did Rocco stay with Shoemaker after the leadoff single. Hasn't he seen Shoemaker implode often enough to go out there and pull him for Robles? This is probably all a moot point since the Twins probably weren''t going to score again anyway. They can't score unless they hit Home Runs. Never seen a team that can't string 3 hits in a row like this one. Pathetic.
  8. Flipping thru channels and it was 5-2 and figured it was another loss. Tuned in here now and see they won. HUGE surprise. Too bad they have played so poorly that no one cares to watch anymore.
  9. It doesn't matter if not many players make it to free agency in their prime. You still have a choice to go after them or not. Get the best ones instead of the leftovers, which they have been doing for years. Hasn't worked has it?
  10. I listed Bauer and Hendricks simply as examples. Why do the Twins always sign players that had excellent careers when they are at the END of their careers like Donaldson and Cruz. If you read my next post you'd understand that paying for crap will get you crap. Maybe they should try a different approach like trying to sign Free Agents in the prime of their careers when they are top performers, not when they are washed up, along with the other players that won't/don't make a difference. Example: Gerrit Cole 7-3, Randy Dobnak 1-6.
  11. Nothng will change until they start signing players like Bauer and Hendricks. Yes they are monster contracts but you get what you pay for and right now the Twins are paying for crap.
  12. We understand Aichiman. I am beginning to feel that way too. The ownership of this team is not serious about winning much less building a dynasty or even a legitimate contender anymore. We were lied to about building Target Field for more revenue to bring in top Free Agents. Instead we still get guys like Happ, Shoemaker, Colome, Robles, Simmons, Garlick, Broxton? I'm sure I'm missing a few. The 2 significant signings of late have been Donaldson, (a big disappointment) and Cruz (is probably on his last season as he has really dropped off). I've seen enough of Dobnak. That contract is a total waste of money. Seriously why would you give a guy 5 years when he can't stay out of the minors. The organization needs to quit taking chances on misfits and cast-offs.
  13. Wait for it..... Wait, Wait, it's coming..... there it is... the 8th and 9th inning. TaDa!
  14. I'm fine with Kirilloff, Larnach, Jeffers, Gordon staying on the MLB roster. Absolutely bring up Ober and Rooker too. How about Duran and Balazovic and Canterino? What have we got to lose? Next season, of all the players from 2020, return Berrios and Arraez. Can't think of anyone else on the roster returning in 2022 that would help, maybe Polanco as a bench guy. The rest can go away. If I didn't list them above they are: 1. Under-achievers that need to go 2. Over-paid for what they bring to the team 3. Can't stay healthy to matter First priority, Start trading for the best prospects you can get. Second priority, Stop acquiring low level reclamation Free Agents hoping they somehow catch lightning in a bottle and answer a prayer. Third priority, Start teaching the fundamentals of baseball and require the players to play like they know them.
  15. At some point during this dismal season some people need to be held accountable. The lack of basic baseball fundamentals is being overlooked and that falls on all of the Coaches and Managers in the entire organization. Has anyone thought it might be a good idea if they have every player know how to bunt or hit to the opposite side of a shift or know which base to throw to or call off other fielders on fly balls or pop ups? I know they teach these things in little league and high school where I live. Does this team practice fundamentals or are the players just expected to know them and execute? Kinda looks like they don't know what they are doing.
  16. If they don't extend Pineda he'll be gone either by trade or Free Agency. Twins don't sign legit starting pitchers in free agency. They go after reclamation projects and left-overs that no one else wants like Shoemaker and Happ. They traded for Maeda who couldn't even make or stay in the Dodgers rotation at the #5 spot. Berrios will be gone. He's got too much talent for the Twins to afford. Face it, they are a AAAA team playing amongst true major league caliber teams pretending they belong. Their playoff record proves what they are. Sometimes the truth hurts and it shows up like it is doing this season. Glad they built Target Field so they could increase revenue and bring in top Free Agent talent. Problem is they don't, they are still bargain shopping and dumpster diving especially when it comes to pitching.
  17. The Twins aren't going to trade or release Sano. Unfortunately his salary has them with their hands tied. Yes, I'd like to see him given his out-right release. He's a rally killer. The least Rocco could do is move him to 8th or 9th in the lineup if he has to play him. Then when the game is on the line and his spot comes up consider having a Pitcher hit for him. They at least might be able to lay down a bunt and keep the inning alive.
  18. Celestino deserves a shot. If the Twins can afford to have an automatic out in the lineup like Sano, then anyone and everyone out there also deserves a chance to play regardless of their bat..
  19. Good article but how can K-Sano not be on the list. He'd be at the top of mine. Outside of 1 HR to win 1 ballgame for them against Baltimore he kills a rally almost every time he's up to bat. Had the bases loaded twice and a third time had guys at 1st and 2nd yesterday and produced nothing. He belongs in the stands with the rest of us who can't hit. They could bring back Morneau and he'd hit more than .163. Time to take a look at some youngsters and move on from the Buxton/Sano era. Neither will nor should be mainstays going forward. One can't stay on the field and the other one shouldn't be on the field. Lets see what Rooker and Celestino can do.
  20. The offense contributed 3 runs produced on 1 HR, 1 ground ball fielders choice and 1 passed ball. They had 14 K's and 14 LOB. It was another banner day. Why haven't they given Sano his out-right release yet? Surely a 1B from class A or AA ball could hit .165.
  21. Don't agree with the Twins bats "awoke in a big way" theory. I guess 6 hits in 7 innings is impressive if you've been watching this lineup hit this season but had it not been for 2 walks before the Sano HR and then add the possible HR that Walsh hit this game would have been 4-4 and going into extras. It would be interesting to know how many runs the Twins have scored this year without the HR.
  22. Was thinking the same thing....3 HR and they only scored 5 runs. Too bad someone can't get on base. Kudos to Duffey for throwing at Mercedes, that's how you pull a team together. If Rocco didn't know anything about it, he should've. At least we saw some fire from him for once. It's been a long time coming and he needs to do more of it.
  23. The Bad News Bears strike again! Definitely one of the worst games of bumbling misfits I have ever watched try to play baseball. Highschoolers know how to execute a rundown better than the 2021 Twins. Can Donaldson make a mis-catch at anymore of an inopportune time than he did today. Can Garver not block a ball at anymore of an inopportune time than he did today. Why is Arraez in the outfield? A good outfielder makes the catch he lets bounce off the wall. Why does Rocco bring in Duffey with the bases loaded when he has proven he can't keep inherited runners from scoring? Sano had his moment in the sun yesterday. Back to his usual non-productive self today. So many wrongs again. Only bright spot was Larnach getting 3 hits. Trade the rest of the bums for a bag of peanuts and a box of cracker jacks.
  24. Hell froze over? The blind squirrel found a nut? It's an anomoly.... Twins Win! Twins Win!
  25. Where's Rocco during all of this? Looking at his tablet? When's the last time he got into an umpire's face? I totally agree with this. He provides no spark, no fire, no enthusiasm. His dull lifeless attitude is infectious and his team has absorbed it into themselves and are playing exactly that way. Pinch hitting Sano who is all but guaranteed to strikeout in a clutch situation goes down as another highly questionable move but at this point what's the difference. Every thing he does turns out wrong.
