  1. Trade them both for a prospect. Heck, I'd even thow in a GabrielGonzalez and Ober and then use the freed up salary to resign Jeffers or a legit 1B. Do we want to improve the roster or not?
  2. Bradley and Clemens for sure. Kremer probably. Ryan will be traded. The rest need to go if TP is serious about improving the team.
  3. Tough call. Trading Ryan makes TP look like he's doing a 180 from the deadline acquisitions when they added. Why go backwards now? Then again, why let Jeffers walk when they had the chance to move him for something or extend him years ago? Will they let Ryan walk after 2027 as well. Wouldn't surprise me. The main trade chips that they have outside of Ryan that I see, are.... Lewis, Larnach, Martin, Wallner, Ober. Can't see any of them bringing back much unless they package someone important to club with 'em. The Free Agent market is thin and TP has said they are spending and improving. My guess is we're going to see someone the caliber of Ryan, if not Ryan himself, get traded. It'll be interesting to see what they think is a fair return for him. It'll probably be a left-handed hitting outfielder who can't play defense.
  4. It is NOT..... HAVE the Pohlads earned back the Twins fans' trust but....... HOW can the Pohlads win back the Twins fans' trust. Regardless of what they do, the answer will be proven on the field, not by anything Tom says or even tries to do. Whatever he does, it must work on the field, otherwise it's just more smoke and mirrors coming from a guy at the top, wearing a different face.
  5. All 6 players you listed can't and didn't bat 7th and both Buxton and Keaschall can't and didn't bat leadoff.
  6. They already drove in Buck and Keash a lot of the times when they were batting in the spot they already occupied. Doesn't work to give them credit twice.
  7. Only one on this list would have been Roden since the other 5 were already in different spots in the lineup, unless you know of a rule that allows someone to bat in their own spot and Bells too. Wasn't Roden hurt or on the depth chart most of the season below guys like Kreilder, Gray, Arcia, Jackson? Nice try!
  8. Keaschall led the team scoring runs at 86, Lee, Clemens and Bell all had more runs than Buck, so you are only partially correct about that. It's hard to drive the offense when you're not playing due to injury. Bell scoring 78 runs was second on the team. Bell and Buxton had Batting Averages and On Base Percentages that were the same. Buxton was better than Bell in SLG PCT and OPS yes, but you gotta be playing for any of that to matter. Who was going to drive them in if Bell wasn't there? Wallner? Outman? Lewis?
  9. If 96 RBI's is C- production, your bar is very high. 5th most in the AL. Team High. 2nd best of his career. All for $7M. I was not thrilled with his signing but without his bat in the lineup this team wouldn't have won 60 games.
  10. Agree with your #2. Bell had the season they were looking for.... unless they were hoping he'd hold down 1B defensively. Only a fool would have expected that, but we didn't have a true 1B at the start of the season, so you can carry the assumption with that as far as you like. I'd be more than willing to give Bell another 1 year run if they pencil him in at the FULL-TIME DH spot. No more than 1 year though as father-time may start to catch up with him shortly. Unfortunately with the emergence of Jenkins, I can see them giving Buxton the DH spot at least on a 50/50 role or more, splitting time at one of the corner outfield spots. I think Buck's days in CF are all but over, barring injury to Jenkins, and I'm fine with that. Buck will get the first nod at DH, Bell will be an afterthought even though he out RBI'ed Buck by more than double. The Twins are committed to him for 2 more years and DH is getting to be the safest place for him outside of the Doctors Office. Funny how things work with this organization...... They stick with a guy that can't give them a full season based on his ability and not his production yet other players that outproduce him are let go. Happens pretty much every year. Watch.... Bell will be gone and Buxton will give us another half a season in 2027.
  11. I did not confirm this but another poster said the Twins went 38-43 in their first 81 games and 39-42 in their 2nd 81 games. If that is true there was NO collapse. Maybe everyone here at TD should stop saying there was. The Twins didn't win any more games with Buxton and Ryan contributing at a high level anymore than when they didn't. I see difference makers in the 6 guys you named, Bradley, Prielipp, Keaschall, Culpepper, Jenkins, ERod. The 2 biggest improvements they can make now is: 1.Get rid of the dead wood that continues to hold this team back and 2.Quit dumpster diving for the pieces they need.
  12. It's comical, if the Twins are expecting a guy who has passed through waivers 3 times, (meaning no one else wants him, not even once) to be their primary backup catcher next season. If that's the plan, good luck in 2027. They're going to need it.
  13. First, lets get one thing straight, 2025 was not a good team. If it was, there wouldn't have been a massive sell-off at the deadline. Correa is/was one of the most over-rated players in baseball. The Twins had a terrible defense. Lewis couldn't play 3rd, Wallner was terrible in RF and at the plate, Keaschall was trying to play 2B. France provided zero power from the 1B position, The bench provided nothing. When you have the likes of Mickey Gasper playing in a 4th of your games that speaks to how weak they were. Woods-Richardson was your #3 pitcher. The only strength that team had was their bullpen. The best part of the entire 2026 season was seeing the young players getting a chance to play. Bringing in Kremer, Hoffman, and Minter at the deadline meant nothing other than window dressing towards the fans. TP could say he tried. A feeble attempt at improvement is all it was. Bradley, Prielipp, Matthews, Morris, Adams, Rojas, Abel, look like they are ready for their chance. Jenkins, ERod, Keaschall in the OF. Lee and Culpepper on the left side. I can handle Clemens at 2B or 1B until they find someone better, hopefully this off-season. I can see Houston eventually getting SS and maybe Culpepper can shift to 2B. Catcher is a problem short-term without Jeffers. Everyone else is expendable. Will Tom commit to the right direction? I doubt Jeffers will return. What they do with Ryan will show us the direction he takes. Keeping him is more of the same, trading him will signal a meaningful rebuild. Lewis needs to go as well.
  14. Anyone outside of the owners and front office could see at the beginning of the regular season that playing meaningful games in September was the Hope and a Prayer that has become the slogan of the Franchise.
  15. Do you mean TC Bear? Not sure he has much to say about it, but then the way this organization is run, he couldn't do much worse!
  16. Believe it or not, this roster is not perfect. I laughed myself right out of my chair. randball stu would be proud.
  17. Target Field opened in 2010. Only 3 pitchers have been better than Bailey Ober. That pretty much sums up the state of this organization for the last 16 years. Pathetic.
  18. So you are basing it on this season only. Seems to be a little short-sighted don't you think? In 2023 he had his best season. 2024 he had a down year..... based on one season, which is what you are doing, they should have gotten rid of him before his 2 solid seasons in 2025 and 2026. Sure, I'd like a full season without injury, but I don't want them to keep him because he's a nice guy. It's because the cupboard is bare without him and his likely replacement, based on what this Front Office does, will be much worse. That's the true reality.
  19. If Buxton is healthy for Opening Day and plays a full season, the timing becomes a footnote. You are stretching the fact that Buxton can play a full season to the point of rediculous. At this point in his career, and with Jenkins, ERod, Keaschall in the outfield, I won't miss Busted, I mean Buxton. Had they got him under the knife sooner and he was more ready to go at the start of 2027, he would just have his next injury sooner in 2027. I know his $15M is considered cheap, but I'd like to see a CFer that can play an entire season and be counted on to help the team when needed. And if they move him to full-time DH, he'll just hurt himself swinging the bat or running the bases.
  20. What are you basing his drop off on? 2026 was his 2nd best year offensively in his career. There has been talk of him being one of the best offensive catchers in all of baseball, if not the best. Sure, he's not Joe Mauer but who the H E double LL toothpicks is anymore? He's only 29, in the prime of his career. If the Twins won't pay him I'd be willing to bet a dollar to a donut the Yankees will. The Twins have no one in the organization ready to take his place. 3 years gets them to Tait and or Lackey. Diaw is in AA and could become the backup in 2028. The cupboard is bare unless you want a Caratini/Jackson combo. That's more of the same, settling for less that we have seen, and gets us no where.
  21. The first order of business, if Tom is serious about winning, is to resign Jeffers to at least a 3 year contract. If he doesn't get that done, then he's not serious. In fact, it should have been done already, so there you go.
  22. So, in other words you want honesty, not Tom saying, "Go big or go home" and then giving us the half-hearted appproach to winning. The other side to that, which could very well be true, is why he won't tell you that simple thing such as, we are going to have a couple down years while we rebuild, and that is.......... Tom really doesn't know what it takes to win.
  23. Unfortunately you have it backwards. The reason the stands are empty is because of the poor product on the field. The Twins drew over 3 million when your namesake, Kirby Puckett was on the field and the team gave us something to cheer for. When there is little to no committment from the Owners and Front Office to win, the fans return the favor.
  24. I hate to even say this but, Kody Clemens was more productive by means of his power, and probably plays 2B as good or better than Royce, for league minimum this season. I didn't have to look far.
