List of MLB managers available for Minnesota Twins
Doctor Wu replied to Irishman's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I'd stay clear of any of the ex-MLB managers, but several of the names on your "Up-and-Comers" list look like interesting and plausible choices. Even some of the coaches with who served short stints as managers might be worth looking at. What sort of time frame do you think we are looking at? A new manager chosen by the end of October? -
BREAKING: Twins Dismiss Manager Rocco Baldelli
Doctor Wu replied to Matthew Trueblood's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Hopefully, there are eager candidates out there who can be both patient and inspiring. I don't have any names for you, but let the interviews begin! One thing I hope the front office DOES do is consult Buxton about the candidates for the job. If Buck remains our team leader going forward, his opinion should be considered in this process. -
BREAKING: Twins Dismiss Manager Rocco Baldelli

That might be a good idea. I also read a short article on ESPN today that said the Twins might look at a few coaches in the Cleveland organization. Either way, a winning culture would be a plus. -

I'll be waiting too. Spring training can't come too soon. But I WILL be following the Timberwolves in the meantime.

Yeah, we are lucky we got much of anything for the oft-injured Stewart, even with the good results when he WAS on the field, But Outman? I don't see anything there worth keeping.

Very much agree with this. You can't rule out Prielipp staying as a started, but having him in the bullpen might be a very good thing at some point in the near future.

Former Twins. Where are They Now? 2025 Edition
Doctor Wu replied to stringer bell's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Starting on the last day of the season for Boston, the now 33-year-old Jose De Leon. After a rocky stint in AAA, his first start back in the majors was pretty good: 6.2 IP, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, but striking out 8 batters.- 339 replies

Week in Review: Starters Finish Strong
Doctor Wu replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I still don't know what to think of Lee. Every time I see clips of him playing, even the highlights, I feel underwhelmed. Maybe next season will be when it all clicks and he becomes an above average player, but as things are looking now he is going to have a short career unless he turns it around.- 26 replies

Week in Review: Starters Finish Strong
Doctor Wu replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Only one week, but some VERY encouraging outings by SWR, Bradley, Zebby, Abel and even Ober. I initially dismissed the idea of the Twins trading both Lopez and Ryan during the off-season, but I have come around to the idea of trading a possibly disgruntled Ryan for a productive bat. But I really hope that they keep Lopez. As Bracky noted, he's a good veteran clubhouse guy with a positive attitude and intelligence. Okay, that doesn't always translate to on-field performance, but I think that sort of positivity can be infectious and the Twins certainly need that going into next season,.- 26 replies

That was strange, but cool that he's gotten another chance to start some games in the majors.

Very impressive and encouraging start by Taj Bradley. Too bad that it's the last of the season for him, but this should give him confidence and something to build on for next year. I still think that he will be an important part of the rotation for the Twins in 2026. Hopefully, we get see Abel pitch once more this week too and see if his control has improved.

Twins 4, Rangers 1: The Piranhas Strike Again
Doctor Wu replied to Eric Blonigen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Despite not running much until after the deadline, the Twins have now stolen their most bases since 2012. Since the deadline, the Twins have stolen the second most in baseball behind the Yankees. Some encouraging stats there. Now we need to find a way to get MORE runners on base and MORE runs to score. I love seeing the Twins being more aggressive on the bases ... but don't let Watkins allow too many of the slow-footed guys to round third and try to score when they are sitting ducks. -
Like most everyone else has said, I don't think that the team had to think twice about letting Lopez get out there and pitch again after his rehab stint. He's ready, so send him out there. Sure, it's a lost season, but he's one of the team leaders and I think his positive attitude can be a huge plus for the team going forward.

Agreed, Seeing that kid jump for joy after getting the ball reminds us how much joy that this game can bring to people. Great clip!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. Something about the way he reacts just rubs me the wrong way.

And we could have/should have kept Hoffman and maybe Henriquez and a few others too. But bullpens are always very fluid and fickle things. You can never accurately predict how some of these players will do in relief. But I still hold out hope we will find a few useful pieces for next season.
