I mean, they are dropping seven into coverage and getting great pressure with four. And McCarthy has to wait for the play to develop because we need 15+ yards. Ugh

KOC, like Campbell, a good coach but just can’t help himself with some of these inappropriate play calls, that’s my surface view of it anyway

The amount they've played is why I don't think they'd be a ton better if they'd kept Darnold.  We saw what he looks like when protection breaks down at the end of last year.

Hard pass. I don’t want a Shannahan special game manager. He might be good for a team that’s looking for a Kirk Cousins ceiling.

I want a QB who can drag a team to the Super Bowl, and I’m willing to draft more JJ McCarthys until he they get it right.

Well, I'd draft a guy who's offense in college was built around him, but yes.....in general I agree with the sentiment.

McCarthy has certainly been pressured...but he's holding the ball way too long.  It's the same as what Darnold did at the end of last year: you make your dudes look bad if you turn every three step drop into a 5 step one.  They set differently depending on when the ball is expected to be out.
