Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 UPDATE: Stay connected on our Facebook page for the event [https://www.facebook.com/events/185896548254076/] On September 14, 2013, the Minnesota Twins will take on the Tampa Bay Rays in what hopes to be a battle for a Wild Card spot not being in last place. Twins Daily invites you to participate in the first annual Light Rail Pub Crawl-slash-Twins game. For $36 you will receive a center field ticket and a DiamondCentric t-shirt to commemorate the event. How else would you rather spend a crisp, fall day in Minnesota than wandering around with fellow Twins fans? Details are being finalized but the preliminary schedule has the crawl beginning at the Fort Snelling light rail station and includes stops at: The Fort Snelling ClubThe CardinalHarriet Brewing Tap RoomThe CaboozeA Downtown Bar TBDTarget Field for the 6:10 PM game. For $36, you will be mailed your Twins ticket and t-shirt. You may be asking, “Parker, I like the Twins and t-shirts but I do not enjoy light rail rides, drinking or socializing with bloggers. What can I do?” Simple, you can still meet us at Target Field and enjoy the game and t-shirt without stepping foot on the light rail. Don’t like traveling in a pack? That’s fine; take your time enjoying any of the establishments on the stops and rendezvous at the ballpark. Your level of participation is completely up to you! Like our #StearnsCountyPartyBus, we’re in need of a hashtag-able theme. If you’ve got a good idea, submit it below. We would love to have you along. Look for payment details shortly and feel free to leave your thoughts below.

Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 You ougta axe the Cabooze and end up at Fulton tap room instead Great idea that will only get better when the st. paul line goes online, with Great Waters, Surly, and Town Hall all on the way.

This, exactly, and also axe Cardinal Bar and hit Northbound Brewing instead (it's only a block away). I wish I could make this, but I'll be up North for a cousin's wedding. Have fun, guys and dolls!

Yeah, the Saint Paul line will be great for this. The Fulton tap room is always super crowded though. It might be tough to get a big group in there. I've set up a number of pub crawls over the years and I've always had the best luck with sticking to dives. That and posting a schedule of what time the group is going to be where. That way people can meet you along the way if they can't make the first stop.
Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 I'll say that the entire schedule is fluid. Northbound Brew is a great idea.

70charger Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I'll be at the game. Look for me - I'll be the guy wearing the Mauer jersey.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Yeah, sure, you'll make it to the game.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I will! I'll be sitting next to the guy with the Morneau jersey.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Yeah, sure, you'll make it to the game. By September this might be the only way to be able to sit through a Twins game - pre-anesthetized.
Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Here's another fun idea for when the Mpls-St.P light rail line opens, and the new Saints stadium is built: The pub crawl doubleheader, with ballparks at either terminus and many great watering holes in between. The Saints and Twins should try to coordinate the DH part of this.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 By September this might be the only way to be able to sit through a Twins game - pre-anesthetized. Depends on who they call up. Might be fun to watch games in September, if only to get glimpses of the future.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 By then I might be mobile again! I'll see what I can do.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Wish I could be there to drink the young'uns under the table. At least by September it should be easy to pick the group out on TV. BTW...what is this "hashtag" thing?
