Some teams are better than their records, other teams are worse than their records.

This Twins team, however, deserves to be exactly where they're at. They aren't Rockies or White Sox level bad, but they're in that next tier of very bad teams. Pirates, Angels, Marlins, Twins.

The lifeless bats this year are impossible to watch, I'd rather see them lose 11-8 every day then have to be forced to watch crap like this day in and day out.

It's part of his contract.

It's all fun until the favor is returned.

My thoughts exactly and it's a point I've raised before.

Regardless of what one thinks of Rocco's managerial decisions, the players on the field need to perform regularly to at least a semi-competent level.  Except for the 1, 2, and 3 starters, and maybe Jax, that's something we've seen very little of since the end of the '23 season.  And from the looks of it, there probably isn't much coming to significantly help the situation anytime soon.

We need to start putting more on the players to perform the way they're supposed to.

I do agree here. It's like when people yell at Rocco for putting certain relievers into high-leverage situations. What the heck's a reliever good for if you can't put him into a 4-3 game? Heck if you're only going to pitch Alcala in blowouts, pay me to do it instead, I'll do it for $80,000.

Rocco didn't put together this squad. Derek Falvey and the Pohlads did. Rocco can only do so much when his players aren't performing. And the players haven't been performing for the past couple of years. Period.

On the other hand, one can argue that it's Rocco's job to put a little fire under their arses, and I'll have to say that Rocco is about as fiery as a piece of Wonder Bread left out in the rain over night. He'd be a great manager for a talented team like the Yanks or Dodgers. But he's a bad match for an underperforming and unmotivated team.

So I think we're kind of looking at a failure on all levels at this point. Rocco's far from the only one to blame.
