Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 I agree we shouldn't mock them based on language. Now, mayonnaise on burgers? That's fair game. All I know... The wildest parties I've ever been at... Had a decent percentage of Canadians at them. At least I think so... Because I have a hard time remembering those parties.
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Now, mayonnaise on burgers? That's fair game. Yum.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 It's some regional thing - I think an area heavily settled by the Scots. Must not be near you. Because it's no exaggeration whatsoever, when you run into one of these folks, it rhymes with footwear. Soot Bear? Butt Care?
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Urban Dictionary: rocketpig Well, he did warn you. Wow, I did not realize that it meant that.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Again the Indians are being generous in giving the Twins chances. Now Clete needs to make good contact.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Out of all the things people poke fun at Canadians for I've never gotten this one. I've never heard anyone say aboot. Ever. I have. More prominent the further east you go.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I agree we shouldn't mock them based on language. Now, mayonnaise on burgers? That's fair game. Love mayonnaise on my burgers ... and on my fries!
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I have. More prominent the further east you go. This could explain things. Aside from a 3 day trip to Montreal I've never been east of Kenora. I should get out more.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Love mayonnaise on my burgers ... and on my fries! They eat fries that way in Amsterdam. Maybe Dutch people settled in Canada?
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Love mayonnaise on my burgers ... and on my fries! Madness.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 They eat fries that way in Amsterdam. Maybe Dutch people settled in Canada? Actually, I dated a Belgian once upon a time. Frites stands all over the place and the most delicious mayonnaise ever!
