Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Will there be fries at intermission? Thats the Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra!!! Audience is in shorts and tank tops and we grill barbecue inside while the concert is going on. Served with French Fries... Nobody sits in their seats... They all stand around the barbecue pit... Plates in hand... Telling each other dirty jokes while they play on. Eventually it gets so Smoky that you can't see the Orchestra and eventually we just ask them to stop.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Just proof that yes, Chicago has a symphony. Unlike Minneapolis, from whence I come.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 They say you go to a baseball game, you'll see something you never saw before. That was...awesome.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 So was that "professional courtesy"? Why didn't Doumit flatten him the first time?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 They say you go to a baseball game, you'll see something you never saw before. That was...awesome. yeah... But watch the papers... Doumit didn't look exactly healthy.
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 oh oh, Drew Butera may be picking up his cell phone any second!!!!
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 They say you go to a baseball game, you'll see something you never saw before. That was...awesome. Yup. I love how the ump just stood there making no sign at all. Then someone realizes (bench, Plouffe?) that he didn't make the safe sign. Fun stuff. At least it saved 30 posts berating Doumit for missing the plate.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 yeah... But watch the papers... Doumit didn't look exactly healthy. The good news is Butera is off the minor-league DL and is ready to go again.
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Oh noes!!!! They've given up the DH.. What now??
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Oh noes!!!! They've given up the DH.. What now?? If we lose, that will be the excuse used.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Boy, DP's don't get easier (or sweeter) than that.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Boy, we just can't do this the easy way today, can we?
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Please....2 run HR to give us a 15 inning game
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Boy, DP's don't get easier (or sweeter) than that. Oops Sorry big dp
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Please....2 run HR to give us a 15 inning game I haven't thought of banning anyone yet... But if that happens. There will be no explanation necessary.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 oh oh, Drew Butera may be picking up his cell phone any second!!!!Yes, but has there been a rental car reservation made in his name? That's the tipoff we're looking for.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Unlike Minneapolis, from whence I come. that actually is a very, very sad tale. I was with the symphony for 9 yrs and still have many friends there.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Yes, but has there been a rental car reservation made in his name? That's the tipoff we're looking for. Well Pedro can return his rented Chevy Cruse to Louisville.. . Hermann or Butera can just take the Fob from him when he returns and drive off to Miami.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Wow, I did not realize that it meant that. Some people make it a hobby to punk the Urban Dictionary. This one looks like such a case.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Love mayonnaise on my burgers ... and on my fries! *shudder*
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Oh noes!!!! They've given up the DH.. What now?? Now Gardy's gotta do some managin'.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The good news is Butera is off the minor-league DL and is ready to go again. The bad news is, he's ready to go to Minneapolis.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Yup. I love how the ump just stood there making no sign at all. Then someone realizes (bench, Plouffe?) that he didn't make the safe sign. Fun stuff. At least it saved 30 posts berating Doumit for missing the plate. In the postgame, Timmy (no surprise here as a former catcher) laid some of the blame for Doumit's poor baserunning execution and subsequent injury on Plouffe for not giving Dooms the "slide" signal. Yet another FSN guy who gets, and reads the memo on the priority list for who gets thrown under the bus.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Random Thought: To hell with Simon and Garfunkel... Yeah... I said it... Whenever I cook and have to use spices... I spend the rest of the afternoon singing "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme". All afternoon stuck in my head,.. That line over and over... Paul Simon's fault.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Hey... Someone had to educate him! It's not like the University Of Moose Jaw is gonna get it done. Getting closer, keep trying.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The good news is Butera is off the minor-league DL and is ready to go again. And by "good news" and "ready to go again", you of course mean that SOS is firmly back in his hitting comfort zone groove, what with him sporting his current .179 AAA BA and all. It's comforting to know that Gardy will sleep well tonight knowing that Drew's sub-Mendoza self can be on a plane to Miami tonight and won't have to be driving cross-country in a sub-compact Rent-A-Wreck like peons like Hernandez had to endure.
