Anyone can feel free to edit the thread title or move it somewhere else. NFL.com ranked all 32 starters going into week 3 and it really reinforces how tough the position is right now. https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-qb-index-week-3-c-j-stroud-vaults-josh-allen-kyler-murray-soars

Mahomes, Jackson, Allen and maybe Prescott are the only really elite QBs and Jackson is 0-2 and Prescott has his very vocal doubters. Stroud and Murray are close, maybe? Hurts seems to be shaky. Baker Mayfield is #6. I like his story but this ain't the league of Manning, Manning, Brady, Roethlesburger, Brees, Rodgers, Wilson and guys like Rivers, Newton, Ryan, Dalton, Luck, Cousins also playing pretty well.

So if KOC can keep Darnold playing solid, that might be enough because the last few big QB drafts haven't really excelled (yet).

I think in the very near future we are going to see some teams opt out of this crazy QB market and go back to an old fashioned run heavy offense. The league is cyclical that way. 2 high safety defenses are dominating right now and the best way to move those guys up to the LOS is running the ball. Then the pass opens up again.

You're probably right, and I think we're already seeing that with some teams. I wouldn't be shocked if the 49ers don't give Purdy a big deal and instead say, we can do this with another QB (even if they're wrong).

I still don't like those teams' chances of winning it all though so I'd like my team to be one of the ones with an elite QB, even if he's paid too much.

As long as Pat Mahomes is healthy and breathing, I don’t like anyone else’s chances of winning it all. Teams should continue taking swings on QBs in the draft, but we are seeing that it’s increasingly difficult for these guys to transition from college to NFL. So I think teams will go back to the old days of sitting their rookie QB for a year or 3, and run the ball a lot more.

Ouch, Pace and Turner?  That hurts.

As for the running thing....there are too many rules that make passing advantageous.  Not to mention the benefits of athletes in space.  We're never going back to ground and pound, but I think many coaches are realizing that they need more balance.

Though I'd argue that has more to do with the effectiveness it provides your play action than anything else.

Andy Dalton....how did he do that at his age, and limited practice?

I'm not sure what you mean by limited practice. Was he injured? He's been with the club for two years now.

It's not like their offense is loaded, but they're far from the least talented group in the league. Honestly, I wasn't surprised, and even swapped out a Raiders defense in a fantasy league once they announced the switch. It seemed to be a reasonable comparison to last year's Joe Flacco situation.

The number 2 QB gets very little practice. He had one week.

Is Trevor Lawrence getting dangerously close to the B word territory ?

I was just going to come here to ask who had the Jaguars as the worst team in the league?

I'd say Lawrence is overrated but not a bottom of the barrel QB. Doug Pederson? Very likely a terrible coach though.

I don’t know, he got a Super Bowl out of Carson wentz and Nick Foles

This Jags team is really, really bad. They'd probably look better with Hutchinson or Stingley on defense instead of Walker.

What the hell happened to this team? They’ve been a bottom feeder since halfway through last season. They guaranteed $200 million to Trevor Lawrence and clearly this isn’t working out.

Admittedly, I never liked Pederson, I thought he lucked his way into a one in a million situation. I thought Frank Reich was the secret mastermind on that team.

So, I obviously didn't nail that half of the take!

Jaden Daniels looks competent

I thought he was going to be the best of the rookie QBs since he could improvise with his legs, yet he hasn't run all that much this year. I'm not a Kliff Kingsbury fan (geez, what's up with me and all the coach hate today?), but Daniels could be special.

The downside of all these running quarterbacks is  all the hits they take. You just can’t lose your QB or your season is over. Daniels already taken a few shots
