We are entering a crucial part of our schedule here in the coming days. The Twins play Texas for 4 games followed by 3 with the Padres. On paper, the 4 with the Rangers should be winnable games. The 3 with the Padres, will certainly be a test as their record indicates they are going to be tough to beat.

Meanwhile, the Guarians have an off day today. That's important because the Twins, barring a rainout, are either going to be 4 games behind or 5 behind after they play the 1st of 4 with Texas. You really need to win games when the team you're chasing has a day off. Then the Guardians play 3 with Milwaukee, who we saw 1st hand, is a very talented team, followed by 3 with the Yankees who have had their fair share of struggles, nevertheless have a decent record.

Once these 7 games are done, I'm going to be very interested in seeing what position the Twins find themselves in.

Hot streaks start and stop on a dime for all 30 teams. Cold streaks and start and stop on a dime for all 30 teams. You will drive yourself crazy thinking teams with a lesser record are winnable games and teams with a better record are difficult games. They are all winnable games. They are all difficult games.

Direct competition against the teams you are chasing or fending off like we just concluded with Cleveland and Kansas City are the ultra important stretches because you can knock them down while rising up.

With that said... Yes Texas and San Diego will be an important stretch of games for us. So will St. Louis and Atlanta and Toronto and so on.

Go Twins!!!

I think I've finally resigned myself to the fact that it's Cleveland's year, and we're going to Baltimore or Yankee Stadium to get shellacked for 2 games.

Hoping for Balt

I'll take Baltimore over Houston, even if Baltimore is a better team. The Twins clearly have a post season mental hurdle with Houston (and obviously NY), meanwhile the talented Baltimore squad put up no fight against Texas last year. I think there's a reasonable chance that they end up like Milwaukee and TB (and the Twins), regularly having a really good team but crapping the bed early in the playoffs.

You gotta beat good teams to get to, and win, a World Series.

That said, If we're stuck playing Baltimore or the Yankees, I'd rather it be a 3 game Series than 5 or 7.

It ain’t gonna get any easier. Buck to the IL so we are going to be seeing plenty of Margot/Martin. Maybe Julien will provide a spark.
