Whoever decided it was a good idea to start Martin, whether it was the bench or Martin himself, should be sent to Alcatraz for the night. Martin starting is not a bad idea, Martin starting in CF is a bad idea. The threat of Buxton's arm saves at least 2 runs, and he probably catches the ball that dropped in front of Martin because he (Buxton) doesn't need to play that deep. If Buxton needed the night off, Castro should have started in CF and Martin at 2B. Schmoeman5, Parfigliano and IndyTwinsFan 3

Martin isn't a centerfielder, he can play centerfield. It's a difference. Patzky and IndyTwinsFan 2

Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Rocco went with the JV lineup yesterday. Should have rested Buxton then. Giving a night off at the start of a series is unusual.

LOL SMH Certainly not recently. IMO, they're closer to being the worst bullpen than the best. Unfortunately, having a manager who doesn't seem to have a clue on how to use them properly doesn't help the situation. Twins_Fan_in_NJ 1

If this is how season is going to be rather win 82 games and miss playoffs- Hang in there! Clearly, these were three disgusting performances on so many levels, and I'm still shaking my head at Baldelli's use of Jackson on Thursday--but my rule of thumb is that a team needs to play each month 3 games over .500 to have a good season (that's 90 wins). Now, if we can take care of Oakland and Arizona (win 2 of 3 from each) then we will arrive, if my math is true, in Seattle on an upswing and a full 9 games above .500, or right about were we need to be. Keep the faith... AussieG and Twins_Fan_in_NJ 2
