The opposing pitcher's books on these guys hasn't been developed yet.

I'm confused, The minor league hitting coaches aren't effective, but the hitters hit better when they first come up because the opposing pitcher's books haven't been developed yet?

Julien, Larnach, AK, Miranda, Wallner.

Each one has gotten worse over time. Even more of an indictment is someone like Larnach who gets sent down, makes adjustments and is swinging well when he first gets back up and then we start to see a big regression.

One of the guys in the booth was talking about how young hitters see more strikes, less wildness and overall more consistent pitching.

It’s a challenge to spot a true lead off type hitter on this roster, at least in the traditional sense. But I have seen enough to think that it isn’t Julien. Not at this point of his career.

And if I think that, and many here would agree, I wonder what the explanation of the FO would be?

Twins are now 0-10 vs the top 3 AL teams

24-11 against the rest

Interesting stat

Baltimore and the Yankees are in a class by themselves.

Cleveland has owned the Twins for the last couple of years and I'm not sure why. On paper, the Guardians aren't anything special. I guess it's just fundamentals and better managing. Those things matter.

I think Buck played consecutive games on consecutive days in center field only once or twice in April. I didn’t have the privilege of watching last night, so I have no opinion on Buxton’s health.

The places below where there are red lines are days off, either by schedule or by manager's choice. DH stands for doubleheader. The highlighted games are days he didn't play the whole game, either being out early in a blowout (1), pinch hitting/running and staying in or coming in as a defensive replacement.

So he did have multiple back-to-back (or more) outings.

But Buxton's defense, today isn't a day off after one day of action, considering he played center and then DHed in St. Paul on Thursday and Friday.

(I didn't see Buxton, so this isn't a reflection on how he looked, just a summary of when he's played.

  • 2023: 6-7
  • 2022: 6-13
  • 2021: 11-8
  • 2020: 7-3

So 30-31 over the past four years entering this season. The 1-7 stretch over 11 days in September 2022 are so etched in our consciousness that they outweigh that they have been 29-24 otherwise.

We get a gift runner on 2nd with none out, and of course Kirilloff does the ONE THING he cannot do. He K's, doesn't advance the runner. Subsequent fly ball now doesn't drive in the tying run. Subsequent lazy fly ball ends inning.

Hard to watch this team.

And trending towards 0-5 thus far.

AK needs to sit but there's no alternative.

Havent been hearing how Great Mr, Picky is with his strike zone eye,  like earlier in the year,

Eddy doesn't chase but that doesn't equate to having a good eye.

I just don't understand how he is so bad. He was a really good minor league hitter. Really good.

Whatever these guys are being 'taught' by the big league club, it's not working.
