He went from 83.3% to 76.1% once the announcement was made.  Hell, Beltre went from 99.1% to 95,1%.

Pretty standard to lose 5-7% when the final tally is revealed.  Needed almost all of the cushion he’d banked.

Yeah, the people that don't vote for anyone don't really want people to know that publicly. It's not good to have the reputation as the party pooper.

Mauer made it by five votes. I'm surprised Helton passed him in the private votes. Congratulations to all three new HOF members.

Torii did well on the non-public vote, easily clearing the 5% threshold to stay on the ballot next year.

The "first ballot" is clearly a threshold for too many.
