Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 @John Bonnes, doing his thing up there with all the others
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Tigers sent a pretty representative team. Mostly big leaguers.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 Pablo looking good … 6-3, backwards K (on 3 straight pitches), 3-1

Parfigliano Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Lets see 30+ of those come regular season Gallo.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 A little late but … GALLOOOOOOOOOO!!!
FlyingFinn Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Miranda homered against Pittsburgh in the other game. At least his shoulder isn't affecting his swing.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 Tyler Mahle came in to pitch the 4th
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Pablo yielded a bit of hard contact in his third inning after he really handled the Tigers first eight hitters. He still really looked good. Okay inning for Mahle, except for hitting Torkelson in the upper arm.

In the interview he said he was working on weaker pitches and getting them in the zone. I did not like the pitch down the middle with 2 strikes for the home run but it is Spring so I guess just let it fly and see what happens.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 The new rules say the pitcher can only do two pickoff throws to, say, first, yes? What are the rules regarding a catcher making a pickoff throw? Do the same limits apply?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I don't think so. I believe the catchers have carte blanche on pickoff throws.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Gallo with three hits. How many three hit games will he have in the regular season?
Dman Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Vasquez has looked horrible at the plate every time I have seen him. Are we sure he is going to better than Jeffers at the plate?
FlyingFinn Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 This is not a duplicate post. Miranda has homered again! Shoulder still not affecting his swing.
Dman Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Miranda with 2 HR's. He is swinging a hot bat right now. Just hope that arm comes back soon.
rwilfong86 Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Gallo is loving the shift change

Are we sure he is going to better than Jeffers at the plate? I’m not sure that’s why they acquired him. He’s a very good receiver and he is very good at controlling the running game. With larger bases, that is very important.

You also don’t see that as often, esp when a pitcher is using the pick off to give time to a reliever warming up. But, now that the pitchers are limited, will we see the catcher make more throws to first this season?

stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Alcala got a lot of help from the pitch clock in fanning the side.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 2:10 going into the bottom of the ninth. I like it.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Jax took #22 (Sano had it last year).

The hit in the 5th went through the hole between first and 2nd where the 3rd infielder on that side would have played last season.
