Three most consequential plays:

3) Jefferson throw back to Cousins on 3rd and 1.
2) Darrisaw false start on 4th and 1.
1) Cousins check down on 4th and 8.

Kirk is gonna have the box score stats to say he’s not the problem. But he decided to check down to a 3 yard pass with the season on the line. Sorry, I’m done with him.

Respectfully disagree. He was the only reason we were in the game. Arguably the biggest reason a team with such a bad defense won 13 games. Can’t defend that last pass but the man gets abused behind a bad offensive line every game and still balls out. He was far down the list of reasons why they lost today

JJ was also non existent after the first drive.

Classic Belichick defense. Take away the best offensive weapon and dare the rest to beat you.

Reasons for this loss:

1) defense and everything about it

2) offsides on what would have been a converted 4th down

3) bizarre play call throwing the ball to Kirk on 3rd and 1

He led 8 come back wins this year..... The defense forced one punt, and it's on Kirk?

Easy to be angry now but on the bright side, the niners would have absolutely curb stomped us next week

I blame the D primarily.  I choose to belive that pass back to Cousins play never happened.

He was nearly perfect today with a couple drops thrown in for good measure. One on the play before the check down

A stat the perfectly describes this franchise as a whole:

11-0 in 1 score regular season games

0-1 in 1 score playoff games

The pass short of the sticks on 4th down is why you move on from Kirk. He has a mental breakdown passing beyond the sticks.

Then you should trade everyone not JJ or Darrisaw and start over. He literally carried the team this year. I expect plenty will agree with you, completely ignoring the regular season and defense and play of the OL at the end of the year. Good luck finding better. Good luck

It’s going to be interesting to see if the front office can completely rebuild a defense in one off-season.

Oh, and the offensive line lol

Seems unlikely.

Correct but part of the plan should be to move on after Kirk finishes next season. It’s just so typical of the Vikings that that was the final play.

That’s the problem. You really need to tear it down in many aspects but hard to do that with a good QB and all pro WR

Money wise they may have to. Maybe we can draft someone last and have him lead us to the playoffs lol

Kendricks did not look good. Maybe it’s that injury. I agree 2023 should be a retool year and if the offense carries them to the playoffs again in 2023, gravy.

He was terrible all year

I hope the coach looks at the failure of all his cute plays..... And gets rid of them next year

Classic overthinking. The upside of that play was never going to be more than a couple yard gain. Kirk is the slowest man alive

I wouldn’t blame Kirk or anyone on the offense. Defense is horrible, they give up too many big plays and big chunks of yardage. They also eat up too much time by not being able to make a stop. Did the Giants have any 3 and outs today? Fix the defense and you have a football team.

They punted twice all game and that last one would never have happened without a drop on an easy first down

Identifying QBs is maybe the hardest thing to do in sports, but it can be done.

If another team drafts Purdy, he probably sits on the bench undiscovered. If San Fran takes another guy with the last pick, Purdy might be coaching in high school somewhere, or whatever young free agent QBs do. Maybe Mullens is the guy, I don’t know, but someone somewhere ought to know.

He did not literally carry the team this year. And you don’t tear down everything including young OL because you don’t have the long term QB on roster.

HOWEVER the Minnesota Gophers football team did win their bowl game in Yankee Stadium this year!
