Twins first five batters this inning hacking at the first pitch. Bruno's working some kind of voodoo tonight?

Smart coaching when going against a strike out pitcher.

Watching the Tigers b'cast. "Pace of game" with Pelfrey on the mound is the current topic of discussion.

I am simple cave man baseball fan, I frightened by your magical voodoo math and fancy talk.

Florimon dropped an easy ball but threw a flame to get the runner. Pelfrey out of the inning without a baserunner. Whatever voodoo Brunansky is workin'...I like.

Hey Bruno, now go do... that voodoo... that YOU do... SO WELL.

I did not realize that the game was starting so early, but we have to be pleased with the score so far, correct?

Very pleased. Way above expectation, especially since the strike zone for Scherzer seems to be at least an inch lower than for Pelfrey. Parmalee really hit that ball, short-hopped the wall in center. Let's drive him in.

Maybe Parmelee said something that crossed a line when he struck out, and now anything close down there will be a strike.

The one thing Pelfrey has going for him right now is the speed variation between his fastball and curveball- it's a full 20 mph difference between the two.

Posted

Pelfrey's had good movement on his pitches, and seems to be changing speeds pretty well.

Speeds on the last few pitches: 81, 85, 91. And another 1-2-3 inning.

He's channeling his inner KC.

Dozier had one of those low pitches called a ball.

Maybe the ump is over whatever hissy fit it was.

Seriously, Joe Mauer has been hot-and-cold a lot this year. Currently on a ridiculous slump (for him, anyway) after batting like .400 for a week

This is only the second time in his career he's gone four consecutive games without getting a hit. The other time was back in August of 07 and he still managed four walks.

Loving Coomer's hitting insight tonight - the Twins should add him to Dick and Bert; get the insight from both sides of the pitch, and probably beaucoup yuks.

I have always been a big Coom fan

I was looking forward to Coom's analysis. Bert doesn't know anything about hitting and Coomer does. Smalley is pretty good, too. Laudner is terrible.
