Great recaps. The pitcher throwing at Sano's head is disturbing and I hope that the league considers a suspension for that.

Some nobody 24 Year old High A bullpen guy tries to take out one of the top prospect in baseball with a headshot?

What a f-wad.

If you want to send a message, keep it down. A headshot proves this guys is an ass

Comes with the territory, Miguel. Hope the no-namer that tried to bean him gets his just desserts. Sano doesn't seem like the Milton Bradley hothead type, so I don't have any issue with the way he handled things here. He is still just a kid and will mature over time. A little chirping here or there isn't going to really hurt anything

Some have questioned Sano's maturity in the past, but this has nothing to do with maturity. I would think most MLB veterans would not be real happy about the ball being thrown at his head. As Mientkiewicz said, if you want to make a point, hit him in the back or the butt, but if you go for the head, that's messing with the guy's future.

I think the article should put to rest our concerns abut Sano being too large to play 3B.

"The 6-foot-3, 195-pound native of the Dominican Republic also leads the FSL with a .375 batting average and a .734 slugging percentage. He's second with 16 RBIs, one behind T.J. Rivera of the St. Lucie Mets."

He's going to need to beef up a bit to be a middle of the order bat.

Does Sano's HR count as a HR if he is thrown out before he reaches home plate (ala DJ Hicks getting mobbed at 2B in walk off grand slam)? Does that run count? and is that why they had to go to extras instead of winning that game after 9?

Oh yeah - Good for Sano!!! Head shots are unexceptable in this game. If your pitcher has control issues - don't have him throw at people!!

That article mistakenly used his weight when he signed. I think he might have been 195 as a 16 yr old. Spring training articles listed his weight in the 230-240 range (at age 19) and Molitor recently expressed doubts that Sano would stick at 3B.

Very true. Even then though, he'll need to improve his control...

I never have understood the whole baseball philosophy of throwing at a batter after they've hit a home run!!! The batter was just doing their job!!! The pitcher should be the one looking at himself in the mirror instead of throwing at the batter!!!

Correct! There is the taunting and gamesmanship that can be 'policed', but that can happen with a fastball to the ribs too.

He got ejected in the 5th. And yes, the run counted.

Interesting to read the account of the game on the Palm Beach website. Their take is that the ball just got away from Creath, and after the homer Sano was taunting the dugout and was ejected accordingly. No quote from anybody official after the game about the incident.

History is always in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
