cHawk Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 Nelson Cruz hit a “little league” inside the park HR with the sacks loaded, cutting the Red Sox 7-1 lead down significantly.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Looks like the Twins fielding! Go Nelson! He didn't even lose his Helmet.
MABB1959 Verified Member Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 How exciting for the Ray's fans to have Cruz. Also been fun to root for the Blue Jays for a Wild Card spot. I pay more attention to the Blue Jays than the Twins now. Happy for Berrios and Cruz to get out of the dreadful Twins organization. I am sure Buxton is counting down the days. This is what baseball is all about to me.

And no offense, but I don’t think anyone on here wants to read these types of comments.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Was that really scored a GS? I would think it was a triple, and then he advanced to home on the throwing error? (Guess I could look it up)

Guess it depends how you look at it.
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 I watch a ton of Rays baseball, but still manage to keep my focus solely on the Twins. That said, I thought the scoring change was bogus. The ruling should have been a triple and an error. The sun was brutal and there was nothing remotely "ordinary" about that catch for an MLB outfielder. We have seen many far easier plays ruled as hits. The Boston scorer was grumpy.

However, a lot of lifelong die hard fans are feeling that same way, and the overwhelming majority of them do not post. I’ll just leave it at that.

Yeah, the sun looked like it was brutal... I think the scorer was just “lookin’ out” for the home team. If the exact same play happens with the teams reversed it is most definitely a triple.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Hey—also, Stephen Gonsalves pitched for the Red Sox in that game! Welcome back to the bigs.

Just when it seems we are getting somewhere we go and trade away the best pitcher the one we have been waiting for for the last decade. Cruz is a fun player to watch. Happy that they are on team making a run for it. That is what I want. Not only do I want them to make a run for it but to actually win a series in post season. I can't believe I am the only one who is enjoying watching Cruz now and when TB is in the playoffs or Berrios helping Toronto make a push for the WC spot. That is what the Twins have been promising since 2010. And yes we won the division, while that is nice it doesn't do much good if you can't make it out of the division series (or at least win a game). I feel like we are back to 2010. For the last 5 years I have been afraid come payday they would let our guys go and it seems they are.
