"When in Rome." He's Japanese playing in America. Could really pick or choose which way to do it unless he's expressed a preference to the U.S. media previously.

I guess I agree, but I wonder if he was given a choice.

Not really. It's the standard here. When I was living in Budapest, it was normal for them to use eastern name order on me. I was charger70.

and Ocho Sinco was 68

I thought it was a well established tradition to get ninja'd on these forums & then to acknowledge it with a "ninja'd by xxxx" post or edit?

See previous statement about new material.

How many others could legitimately claim to have ninja'd me if i said ninja'd?

Can't they legitimately claim to have ninja'd you whether you say "ninja'd" or not?

Ocho Cinco in reverse would be 58.

(But if you are talking about the football player, it would have been 85 Chad, since he went by “Chad Ochocinco.”)

Is anyone else bothered by the American habit of inverting the names of people from (some) countries (Japan, Korea, Hungary) where the surname is traditionally first? It really should be Maeda Kenta, which is (presumably) why his Twitter name is MaeKen.

I approve of cultural literateness. Thanks for pointing it out.

Feel free to call me "ofOneSampleSize" for the remainder of thr game thread.

I also will try eating my soft boiled eggs from the other end...

I stand corrected

Verlander, Josh Donaldson, Mickey Mantel, Ted Williams, and oddly, Rocco Baldelli are some names that come to mind.

Feels a little light.

3-2 count. Not a hit and run. And even if so, he wouldn't have just stopped running in the middle of the basepaths.

if it was 3-2 maybe they send the runner, and he was a dead duck so he stopped to make them throw the ball a couple of times, I wouldn’t assume he just ran on his own

probably Johnson Chad because he now uses his original name, all supporting the idea that you can call yourself whatever you want

I hope that he was given a choice.

By contrast, I used to have baseball cards of “Bob Clemente,” which was unfortunate, because he regularly requested people to use his actual first name.

Oh, he must have been "in motion".

I got this explained to me over the weekend.

Only i got lucky, and Arraez got hit sending Sano to 3rd base.

Sometimes he can be an Eddiot.

So is Buxton told to play deeper so he doesn’t crash into walls, make sense in 21st century baseball strategy I guess. Hit home runs, prevent home runs, nothing else matters
