Eno Sarris - Quality of Stuff

Do you get the Athletic? If you do go take a look at Eno Sarris’ early season quality of stuff report.

 

Here are some notable Twins. Homer Bailey was ranked third behind Scherzer and Gray. Bailey was also among the biggest improvers from last year so it could stabilize or maybe Wes Johnson has a hand in the improvement.

 

Sarris also listed his top 25 command+ for the season. One pitcher made both top 25 in quality of stuff and command+. Randy Dobnak. 
 

They are both likely to drop some but this is an encouraging start from the Twins 5th and 6th starters.

Not fully invested in Bailey just yet. But he's a veteran, he's healthy, and he made some real changes in his arsenal/sequencing in 2019. So I'm cautiously optomistic.

Thanks for highlighting his article.  Twins starting five  listed in the top 70(Hill lowest at 69).  As you say, pretty encouraging considering Odo and Pineda waiting in the wings.

 

Of course, this is an extremely small sample size so how meaningful is it?  Justin Bieber of the 0.00 ERA, 27Ks and 1 BB was not listed in Ero's top 25!!  He is arguably the top starter in MLB to date, at least according to old stats!  Just have to wait and see how things shake out.  Safe to say that thru 7-8 games, Indians have best rotation in majors.  Hope the Twins can puncture that rep in next 2 games.
